When it comes to shipping, Ebay asks what the weight is and the dimensions of the package. However, when you go to enter the information, it does not state what order to place it under. Does it go HxWxL, WxLxH, or LxWxH? this should be posted right above the dimension slots so people wont be confused how the dimensions are laid out. How are you supposed to know what dimensions something is? does it matter which format it goes by?

Length x width x height

Longest length -- medium length -- shortest length.
Easy.

Technically length is the longest dimension. But the eBay shipping calculators (in listings, on label forms, and the freestanding tool) all work the same regardless of the order.

't think it matters. I always put the highest number first.

I'm pretty sure the order doesn't mater.

I use largest measurement to smallest measurement. You have to round up. If two sides have fractional measurements equal to less than 1" you can up only one. At the Post Office they will use a tape measure and not take their hand off the tape as they go round and round to get the most correct continuous measurement.

USPS policy on dimensions is to round off to the nearest inch. So 10.4 inches would be entered as 10 inches; 10.75 inches would be entered as 11 inches.

After two years or more of reporting the problem, they finally fixed the Shipping form code that had been reversing the Length and Height values when retrieving the package dimensions from the listing. Given that the code was attempting to keep track of which dimension was which (perhaps for Girth calculations), this would have been disastrous when USPS began imposing those dimension-based surcharges; it looks like they finally got the code fixed while adding the surcharge handling.
There are still more errors in the Shipping software waiting to be fixed. Despite reorganizing the Order Details page for no apparent reason, they're still misreporting SSK Acceptance dates (they read the date but not the time of submission, thus backing into the previous day when trying to correct "00:00" for the Pacific time zone), and are still failing to recognize when a shipment has been upgraded, reporting a shipment as First Class Package when it actually went out upgraded to Priority, carrying a Priority tracking number.

Should be I don't think it matters. Unable to edit my post.
