You can, figure out the size weight, ect. pack it up real good in a crate and get a quote for freight from C.H. Robinson of some place like that, once its sold. You can also ship stuff thru Fastenal, although there a pain and suck something terrible..

Don't know much about "freight" shipping, but as for the reel to reel, it seems that "freight" shipping would not be needed. I've seen some in my time, but never one that could not be shipped USPS/FedEx/UPS as a normal package.
Sometimes "large or heavy" is best done as "local pickup only". May limit the buyers, but also limits the headaches, especially "returns".

This isn't going to help you at all, but this post reminded me of a sale I made where a guy bought an expensive gaming table ($800) that was local pickup only. He had a freight company come out and pick it up for him.

This page is a good reference for freight shipping on eBay and links to a list of freight carriers whose tracking integrates with eBay: https://www.ebay.com/sellercenter/shipping/shipping-on-ebay/freight-shipping
Research your options. You should speak with the carrier to determine if they offer packing services or if you need to handle that yourself, if they have a lift gate for residential delivery, what their insurance coverage is, do they have online viewable signature confirmation for delivery, what happens if the buyer refuses delivery for some reason, etc. Cover all your bases before diving in.
Keep in mind the risk factor. If a buyer files a claim (whether a true claim or a false claim), you're on the financial hook to deal with that. Some items are best sold with the Local Pickup Only option.
Many sellers use freight shipping quite successfully. If you jump in, do it with your eyes wide open. Learn all the potential outcomes before going that route @robra_9565.

Agree with that. All the reel to reels I've encountered were within size/weight limits to travel with a service like UPS Ground, properly packed.
