Help with buyer

I sold a brand new with tags jacket and now after almost two months the buyer is asking for a refund on paypal stating that the item was not as described. When i messaged the buyer he claimed it was because some buttons fell off the jacket. Should i give him his whole refund back?

Tell him he can return it for a refund. Nothing less than that. No need to refund without returning the jacket first.

Be polite but you have no reason to refund without getting the jacket back first. Its too late for him to leave feedback and i doubt you will hear anything more from him after that. Wait - maybe feedback deadline is 60 days? Anyway - send him a polite reply saying that youre sorry and he can return it for a refund. Thats all.

Re: Help with buyer

Good advice above....

What is the buyer asking for a 100% refund AND keep the jacket?

IF you do decide to offer a refund, DO NOT give the money back until the returned item is in your hands.  Otherwise you will have "gifted" the jacket to the buyer as there is no way eBay or PP can Force a buyer to return anything.

It might make sense to offer a partial refund?  Something less than the cost to ship the item back to you.  But that is a personal business decision one will have to make, based on numerous factors that have not been shared.

So good luck with your decision

Re: Help with buyer

Wow, so they wore it through the winter and now want to return it. Buttons just don't fall off. If more than one, the buyer probably caught it on something or intentionally removed them for return. I mean heck it is not like it only costs 2 bucks a button to have them sewn back on and winter is over, why not return the jacket now that you're pretty much done with it.

What a rip off. You are getting jacked by the buyer, just my opinion. A junked up jacked is absolutely no good to you OP. I would fight it with paypal. Worst case scenario they refund the buyer anyway and the buyer keeps the jacket he messed up.

BTW be sure to block the buyer on eBay. Not sure if you can report the buyer this long after the transaction, but if you can, I would report them.

Wow.....I feel really mad for you 😞

Cheers

I would call PayPal customer service.  This doesn't sound like a SNAD because SNAD only applies to the condition received, and not the condition 2 months after receipt ...

Absolutely unless some warranty was offered with the item.

Also it is important to remember that PP will have the buyer pay for return shipping.  That is not on the seller.

@smitus-yceoc

Have you followed the posts and called Paypal?
Don't give them the refund or just ignore the case or Paypal will refund & let them keep the item

Call Paypal advise this is not an not as described case, this was NWT now worn 2 months & they damaged it

Come back and let us know how this worked out please !!!!
