I recently sold some vintage radio valves to a member in China via Ebay's GSP. Just received a message from Ebay saying that the item has been restricted from international postage and can't be sent. However I can keep the proceeds from the sale and Ebay will refund the buyer. This is puzzling me as vintage valves are not on Ebay's list of restricted items. In the past I have sold them to members in Italy and the USA. Can anyone suggest why 50 year old electronic components can't be sent to China?

Sometimes the GSP decides that an item is not suitable to be shipped overseas. I guess since they assume all liability if it is damaged in shipping, they may decide they can't safely ship the item and restrict it? Unfortunately its pretty much impossible to get them to tell you WHY they restricted it. You will probably see them listed on ebay in the near future too...
