Hi,
I shipped an item to a buyer. I purchased the label at my post office since I was not sure of the weight. I did not realize the address Ebay listed was to the global shipping center address. I had never seen that before.
I did not include the reference number on the label.
Has this happened to you? If so how did you resolve it and was the item still delivered to the customer?
I have learned that pitney bowes runs the International Fulfillment center in KY where my item was delivered but there is no current way to directly contact them. All numbers I find are out of date or monitored only by machine
The ebay rep I chatted with online seemed a little confused but said they would email them the reference number.
By confused I mean they the conversation had things like this:
Me: The package was delivered to KY yesterday at 6:44 AM signed for by X.
ebay rep a few lines later: You could contact your carrier and ask them to stop the shipment.
- it's been delivered...
Also I asked about the charges for the rest of the shipping, the rep said the global Shipping would contact the buyer and see if they would pay it. I have since learned all of that is included in the price ebay charged the buyer to begin with.
I'm not super confident the ref number will make it to the right place.
What should I do next to ensure this goes smoothly? I did enter the USPS tracking info into the ebay auction after I shipped.
Thanks

This happened to me and when I informed the the seller the Global Tracking number was missing, all he said was it was delivered. Once past my delivery date I did a INR. 3 days later I asked eBay to step in and I won. eBay said it was damaged and returned to sender. I bought another one from a different seller as I needed it for my car. Three weeks later I get a shipped notice from GSC (the first car part) so it never was damaged just sitting on someones desk. And yes it's still in the mail (Canada now). My other 2nd car part ordered arrived a week ago. So I suspect yours too will sit there unless you can get someone to investigate more.

Here is our experience over the past month.. Not Good😞 We added Canada when Ebay rolled out their new international shipping program. Big Mistake!! Sold 3 Orders. One was a large combined order- got there no problem because we shipped it directly through usps and not the ebay shipping program. The other 2 orders went through ebay's shipping program. So, same story on both. We shipped on time and everything was fine. Then it hit the DHL hub. It sits there for a long time... and the tracking is next to impossible for us to see or the buyer to see. So then the buyer files an item not received claim. You call ebay and wait forever and finally get through. They tell you the tracking says it will be delivered between these dates and to inform the buyer, which we do and upload the tracking info. The buyer then gets sick of waiting, esculates the case and ebay awards in their favor. BTW, this decision was made before the date the item was supposed to be delivered and item is still showing in transit. So now, the buyer got a refund and most likely will get the item too. We are out the cost of the item, the shipping we paid and a case awarded to the buyer. Ebay's response after sitting on hold for another hour is.. you can do an intercept with DHL (we all know that's not free) or wait and see when the buyer gets their item and then appeal the case. So with 1700 active listings will I remember to check every couple days to see when the item actually gets there?? And then it goes back to the total order was $30 on one and $16 on the other, So is it worth spending 4 hours of time contacting ebay on each one to appeal it? I am guessing ebay is counting on we won't remember or want to invest all that time and will consider it a loss. Thanks ebay for making decisions when the item is in transit through THEIR international shipping program.. when we followed all the rules, shipped ON TIME, but the program you rolled out has some major flaws and the sellers are the ones who are being hurt by it and absolutely zero support for us. I am sure I am not the only one. So after the other not received claim yesterday we took off shipping to Canada again.

My understanding is once it reaches GSC in Kentucky the seller is no longer at fault for lost items or delays and no longer in the loop. Strange you were told otherwise. I now look for sellers who use USPS, 2 weeks to Canada . GSP 4 weeks and headaches.
