In the eBay shipping bot the option for USPS First Class Mail Large Envelope doesn't appear. I'm cleaning out the closets and basement and selling off a lot of old hobby magazines that I discovered have value. Based on the USPS website, with weight and large envelope I can send to most places in the US by First Class Large Envelope and even add a tracking number for 99-cents and it will still be less than the least expensive postage quoted by the Pitney-Bowes eBay calculator. The only issue is that First Class Large Envelope is not available using Click-n-ship meaning I have to buy the postage at the post office. What's up with that? If anyone sees this who has experience selling lightweight stuff like magazines, thin paper goods, etc, I'd like to know if there are any tricks of the trade to shipping those items.

eBay only sells postage for services that can be tracked, so no postage labels for First Class letters or flats (AKA Large envelopes). You can just use stamps, or purchase it at the PO.
The USPS criteria for the 3 types of First Class mail (letters, flats, and packages) are quite specific and don't overlap, so be sure that your piece is eligible to be mailed as a flat: it must be flexible and not over 3/4 inch thick. If you protect the magazine with cardboard, it's rigid and has to go at the package rate.
Check on Sold listings; it might be easier to sell them in lots and ship in a Priority Mail Regional box.
