Fed Ex Overcharges

I was just charged an additional $52.44 by Fed Ex for being 1/10 of an Ounce over on a package weight

My Scale 27.19 lbs - Theirs 27.20 lbs

No Allowances allowed

Seems like another scheme to soak it to ebay sellers

Re: Fed Ex Overcharges

IMAGINE IF FED EX IS BANK ROBBERS. THEY ROB A BANK AND ARE THE CRIMINALS. ON THE WAY HOME THEY DROP OFF A SMALL PERCENTAGE AT EBAYS HOUSE.....ITS THE ONLY WAY TO EXPLAIN WHY EBAY ISNT BOOTING THEM FROM THEIR WEBSITE. WHY WOULD THEY WASTE RESOURCES FOR FREE FOR FED EX???? DOESNT TAKE A TRUE DETECTIVE

Re: Fed Ex Overcharges

Was there any indication that e-Bay would be offering some type of credit for this - there must be an error in the eBay shipping calculation - as my packages are showing they were calculated at a lower weight than what they were billed.

Is there any discussion of a class action on this issues - some of these fees are egregious.

Re: Fed Ex Overcharges

I just spoke to Ebay customer service about this and she said I will get a full refund for the overcharge in 24-48 hours.

Re: Fed Ex Overcharges

I think you hit the nail on it's head. This is a eBay Fed Ex Shipping Calculation issue. The difference between a Fed Ex Ground and UPS Ground cost for the SAME weight and size package is significantly lower for Fed Ex.     I was just hit with a Fed Ex $30 extra charge on 2 packages where the weight I declared was more than the actual weight reported by Fed Ex and the standard rectangle box dimensions declared were EXACTLY correct. This is a eBay shipping calculation issue that Fed Ex shipping costs shown in listings are far below the actual cost.  In my opinion eBay is responsible for these charges for THEIR shipping system calculation error.  This has NEVER been an issue for me with Fed Ex shipping until now.

Re: Fed Ex Overcharges

Yes,  Happened to me.  Their weight was less than mine (my official scale 11.00 Lbs) , Fed-ex said 10.3 Lbs (which in reality is rounded up to 11 lbs anyway) My charge was increased by 67 % !!!! Ebay's great overseas customer service said they would look into it.  (NOT)  They still charged me the extra amount.  I've been shipping for 35 years and I know how to measure my boxes and use a scale. Also, I checked the weight twice and calculated my package could have gone up to 22 lbs without changing the price !!!  RIP OFF

Re: Fed Ex Overcharges

I had similar problem. Fedex says I was 2 oz heavier than reported and charged an additional $30 onto of the $30 I paid. My actual weight was 15lb 2oz, they said actual weight was 15lb 4oz, but the billable weight didn't change which was around 20lbs either way....Ebay originally said I would be reimbursed within 5 days. 10 days later I talked to ebay and they said they are filing a dispute with FedEx on my behalf......you may also want to contact ebay and see what happens?

Re: Fed Ex Overcharges

@penny_sioux  The box size printed on the bottom of the "Uline" boxes are the inside dimensions. The outside dimensions could be up to 5/8s of an inch more. This would force you to round up to the next inch mark.
