I recently sent a "priority" package to Fort George in "Maryland" The brain surgeons at the USPS felt the package was best sent through "2" different distribution centers in "Florida" West Palm Beach & Opa Locka on a holiday weekend. ??? "Why" ??? So now a package that "would" have arrived on Saturday for $13.17 will "not" arrive to at "least" Tuesday. My question to anyone with stroke at eBay, ??? Why ??? does eBay allow this without refunding the seller a portion of the "exorbitant" Because if the USPS "cries" to ebay about package weight & cost eBay "immediately" "takes" the money out of the seller's account. IT WORKS BOTH WAYS EBAY!!!! The seller & buyer (A Member Of Our Military) in this case were both harmed by the continuing "incompetence" of the USPS

Because using any other shipper besides USPS you wouldn't get your shipment there for only $13.17. USPS knows that and their estimated time time of delivery is NOT guaranteed. Like we tell some of our customers, if you have to have your part in the next day or two no if ans our buts. Then do NOT buy it on line. Go to your local brick and mortar store.
Usually they then say but they don't have it. Well then it looks like your gonna have to wait until it gets to you. Patience is a virtue. If your customer was harmed due to a late delivery then said customer should have never made a on line purchase. Been there done that. Its now a different world where no one seems to take pride in there work anymore 😞

Sounds acceptable to me. It could be far worse. Be thankful it wasn't a first class bill payment that arrived a week late incurring extra fees. Be thankful it wasn't medicine you need to survive. Be thankful it was not a lost package. Most of all be thankful it was under $14 to ship.

eBay did not choose the carrier.
I suggest that you ask USPS for a refund for the poor service.
I recently had about the same thing happen. A 2-day Priority package "missent" took 8 days.
I am a veteran as well, but fail to see what that has to do with anything here.
PS............... there is no one here that has stroke at eBay. You could "tag" someone if desired.

You know, in my experience the only people who think the United States Postal Service is terrible are people who have never routinely dealt with another postal service. I have been using USPS for 70 years, and have always found the service reasonably priced, relatively fast, and extraordinarily reliable. I cannot say that of the postal services in any of the other countries in which I've lived and worked. Is USPS perfect? Of course not. No human or human institution is.
As your for your particular case: Remember that you chose USPS as the carrier, although I can't see why given your disdain for it. I also can't see how you or your buyer is "harmed" if the item arrives Tuesday rather than Saturday, since you sell general merchandise.
Anyhow, Happy Presidents Day.

I find no problems with USPS. Packages do go to the strangest places sometimes but for me I never had one lost. I don't do priority because one never knows if there will be bad weather or something strange that might happen where it is going to a hub. I mean, didn't it snow in Las Vegas on Valentine"s Day?

Why would a website, that offers you the ability to
A.) print labels with all the shipping info pre-filled out
B.) at a discounted rate
owe you anything for anything that carrier does?
I ordered a package from a website in Oklahoma- and it went to New Hampshire before coming to me in Nevada. I figured it was an easy mistake. NV vs. NH- can happen.
Things happen.
If your expectation is that things getting shipped from point A to point B can't have a 'glitch' once in a while, you should:
A.) Always shop locally
B.) Never sell anything that is not Local Pickup

USPS also uses a large numbers of contractors:
FedEX
J.B. Hunt
Various local contractors who bid on routes that involve picking up items as various local post offices and taking them to a central post office and / or a sorting facility.
