Any comments about sellers who charge excessive shipping costs? Sometimes I end up paying double the amount of the actual shipping cost of the item in the listing. How is it possible, for example, for a seller to charge $4.00 for shipping a postcard when the actual shipping cost was less than a $1.00? I know some sellers try to make money off shipping but I don't agree with it. Is negative or neutral feedback warranted?

shop by total cost.
you see the total cost before you purchase, and pay.
responsibility is on you to make good choices.
the seller would not deserved neutral, or negative feedback for your decision.

To ship a postcard First Class with tracking is $2.66-$3.09.
If the shipping cost was shown in the listing, then no, a neg is not warranted IMO.

Also, understand that shipping cost have increased across the board (USPS just did one in January). Not sure where $1.00 to ship a postcard came from but as another user pointed out, it is higher than that.

Absolutely not, sellers include all costs involved into the price including shipping, ie, paper for your label, ink for the label, gas for the car to drop your package off, packaging for the item you purchased, tape, and lastly anyones time, how much do you expect for an hours work ? round trip to my PO takes 45mins, about time most buyers realized there is a lot more to postage than just what the PO Charges for delivering it.

A postcard can be mailed in a #10 envelope for 55 cents. Even if you reinforce it to prevent bending, and thus incur a nonmachinable surcharge, it's still under $1. Plenty of successful postcard sellers do this and get along just fine without tracking.

Oh and also forgot the 10% E bay fees deducted from what you paid, then 2.9% Paypal fee + $0.30 also deducted for processing the payment, now you see sellers have a lot more to pay up front than what you actually think.

OP is also a seller.
Probably well aware of fees, and other expenses.

Do you think it would be warranted if I bought one of your items and left you neutral or negative feedback because I thought you had your item overpriced?

Mailing a postcard consists of an envelope, two pieces of cardboard, and a first-class stamp. The $1.00 is only an example, and since when does a $1.00 postcard need tracking?
