Anyone else had a problem with Ebay shipping change after a bid was made? They tripled the shipping amount. To make matters more confusing - On my bid history it shows a different amount however this is still not the amount that was on the listing at the time that I made a bid? Luckily I took a screenshot at the time I made a bid - Surely this is illigal!
Tried to raise a complaint and an investigation with Ebay with no luck! Been buying for years from USA and never had these insane prices for standard Shipping - I am convinced it is an IT error but the callcentre refuses to listen or take any action. How to I bypass them and get hold of the Legal department by Ebay
Any help will be much appreciated

I clicked on this thread from the unanswered questions list and just wrote out the entire below reply before seeing that the original post is dated Feb 10, so this auction has already ended making the below advice somewhat irrelevant. What ended up happening with the auction @cdbyl75?

Can you share the item number? If it's eBay International Shipping (EIS) or eBay International Standard Delivery (EISD) that makes a difference with what you're seeing and the advice offered.
For example, with EIS - there's a weird thing where buyers see one shipping rate in search, but when they click on the listing they see an entirely different shipping rate. This only happens when the seller did not enter dimensions in the listing form.
The rate is not changing in this case, but the search view is showing a different rate from the listing view. And if you placed a bid, you would have seen the (usually higher) rate on the listing before placing the bid.
If you are the only bidder you may be able to cancel your bids and ask the seller if they're willing to end the listing and repost with correct dimensions. If you're not the only bidder, or if the listing has a lot of interest from others, the seller is not going to be willing to end it.
The higher rate would have been shown to you before you bid so that's what you'd have to pay if you win. If that doesn't work for you then I suggest retracting your bids before it's too late.

Thank you for your interest in this matter.
I did contact the Seller and explained - luckily, or unluckily for me - someone else did bid on this item.
There was no change on the item size as the Seller confirmed that they did not alter it in any way. The shipping amount more than tripled after my bid was placed. I did check my delivery address before bidding so this wasn't it as the call centre person also claimed. This is a very frustrating matter as I feel once a bid is made the shipping SHOULD NOT change!
ps - I have found that the shipping/postage on a lot of Ebay listings have gone up a lot (from USA) - maybe this was an increase (tripled?) but nobody at Ebay customer services could confirm this - they kept on blaming the size/weight and incorrect country of delivery - which was not the case. Also find the problem as you said that on the search page it shows a lower shipping but when you click on item it's much higher. To me it feels like a sytem error?
I now buy from ETSY and only from Ebayers that do not use Ebay shipping as I refuse to pay over $100 for a Barbie doll unboxed that amount. Amazon shipping still beats Ebay by far!
Again - Thank You for your interest
