Buyer wanted me to ship the item he bought from me to a different address with his own prepaid label. Was this a scam?

Cancel, problem with buyer's address. 

Real dropshippers just put the right address in when they order the item. Something strange is in the neighborhood here and you don't want any part of it.

Did you tell the buyer that you are required by eBay to ship to the address shown on the invoice when the buyer makes payment?

It can be.   Advise the buyer you have to stay within eBay rules.  They can enter any ship to address they want before they click to pay.

You could be billed by the shipper if there is any issue with their label too.

You could be billed by the shipper if there is any issue with their label too.

How would that work? The shipper would be billing the buyer since the buyer their own prepaid label.
