Hi,
If I am shipping USPS First Class because it is under a lb., do I have to add the dimensions of the package in ebay when listing? When shipping plushes in poly bags that are large, but are under a pound, it is hard to get exact dimensions.
Thank you.

Thank you. I think I received faulty information from a you tube channel. Thank you for clearing it up.

First-Class™ packages cannot exceed 22" x 18" x 15"
Yes, always put the correct dimensions.
I always wonder why people don't do this and then wonder why there are issues later...

The exact dimensions don't matter, unless they exceed the specifics given in the other post. Enter the dimensions of your poly bag when it's empty, then estimate the thickness.

Well, you may not need to put the dimensions in when" listing" (I see the option of "don't know" when listing), but those dimensions will need to be entered when shipping/purchasing a label.

That is not correct;
Packages shipping 1st Class do NOT have to input the dimensions. Yes, buyers need to know that 1st Class cannot exceed 22" in any one dimension, but dimensions are NOT required when purchasing.
They are also NOT required to input any weight OR dimensions when listing ANYTHING if you use 'Flat Rate Shipping' (doesn't matter if it's 1st Class OR Priority-and not the USPS kind, the eBay kind of charging the same amount to ship a 'thingy' to anyone in the USA (and territories if using USPS).

So you are saying that I can purchase/print a 1st Class shipping label without entering any dimensions. I did not know that. Thank you. Learn something new everyday.

I have shipped 1600 first class packages in the last 12 months and never have I entered any dimensions when shipping with ebay shipping.
ebay shipping is back up to its old speed thank heavens
first class is always pre selected for me.
I just enter 6 ounces or so and hit pay/print and thats it

Yes; try it. Ever since ebay changed the shipping page and added that, the dimensions are usually shown as 1x1x1 and I never change it on 1st Class.

I wonder if doing that can come back to bite you in any way on a claim though. Personally, I don't suggest omitting the dimensions. While it may "work", I question if it is a wise thing to do.

I am one who uses First Class all the time, but I do enter the dimensions. True that it comes up 1" x 1" x 1" and you can purchase after entering (a qualifying) weight, though. I've always been a little afraid that the 1" x 1" x 1" might get me in trouble later, if the sold item would obviously require a larger package. Never heard that complaint, but who knows?
Unlike @1tuna, I go for the whole price break. My 6 oz. packages boast 8 oz. weight... 10 oz. boasts 12, 14 oz. boasts 15.9.
