Des Moines Network Distribution Center

My package arrived at the Des Moines Network Distribution Center on June 22nd at 5:24am.  As of today, June 30th, it is still there.  I live in Wisconsin.  My local post office could do no more than confirm it is in Des Moines.   Is there no recourse other than to just wait?

Re: Des Moines Network Distribution Center

When I have a late package I file a missing mail report  or a lost package claim on the USPS website.  After a day or two the package starts moving again and is usually delivered.

Re: Des Moines Network Distribution Center

This package has been misrouted and that happens very frequently now. If you have a usps.com account login open a case if not create an account then open your case. From usps.com main page go to support, email us then click on where is my package. Put in your tracking number and follow the prompts until the end. You will receive a case number sent to your email address. You will get a response as well as a solution withing 24 hours. Most likely your post office will call you and let you know what happened. We have tracked now hundreds of packages this way. Take care.

Thanks again.  I completed the rather detailed form , submitted, and got a Service Request Confirmation #.  Should get follow-up in 24 hours.

Re: Des Moines Network Distribution Center

It might be easier next time to instead sign up for email alerts on the tracking number and many times that's enough to shake it loose from where it's stuck.  It's not 100% fool-proof, but it beats not filling out those forms unless it's you have to!!  😊

Good luck.
