I am sure that you have seen the posts from others before but as an experienced eBay seller with over 20,000 successful sales, I am telling you DO NOT under any circumstances use eBay Standard International Shipping. I have lost more international packages in the last month than I have in my previous 19 years selling internationally. In addition, no tracking numbers are being uploaded and eBay will not standard behind the services that they are offering. My most recent transaction was a $400 ax that was sent via eBay International Standard Shipping. I fulfilled my obligation in sending the item to eBay's shipping facility in Kentucky. The ax was lost in between there and its destination and eBay promptly refunded the buyers money indicating that I had no tracking number between Kentucky and the ax's international destination....you are correct eBay, that is because you were the ones who shipped the ax from Kentucky to its international destination. You will see posts that eBay will cover up to $100 of insurance on eBay International Standard Shipping. I received absolutely nothing and was told that there is no such insurance. This has happened 3 times this week with smaller items, therefore I am not offering this as a service and strongly recommend that none of you do either.

Your International Standard Delivery tracking number is at the lower right of the label.
You can track it here, @ciderpressantiquesvermont:

As per the message from @ga-8370 , is is correct to say that the international tracking number is on the USA-destination label, but is still not uploaded to the transaction? I don't see why @ciderpressantiquesvermont should be dinged if that's the case.

While I do not use eBay's standard international shipping I do use their Global Shipping Center and have had no problems with that service. The tracking has always been uploaded and once it reaches the center eBay takes it from there. Heck I never even see the invoice that is sent to the buyer eBay sends that.
However because of COVID and the amount of international scamming and fraud I have limited the international destinations I ship to.

I agree with you. I had same thing happen. They also used to offer more insurance and now do not do it at all at just $100 coverage.
Please go to Ebay Help page and enter Ship Cover insurance in you search
It will have a link for filing a claim. You can then file a claim on there and they should reimburse you maximum $100. It was simple for me but still that did not cover all my cost.
Ebay International delivery is basically DHL.

You have to apply for the insurance, it isn't given to you automatically. There is on the link on the following page, just scroll down to the filing a claim section and click on the blue link.

I only use sellers who ship by USPS to me in Canada. Why should I pay extra fees/time for eBay to ship it to me.

I didn't run into a problem with an item getting lost using eBay's new Global international shipping service, but after the item was shipped, eBay sent me a bill at the end of the month that was at least twice what it typically costs me to ship internationally, so I simply won't use the service because it's just too expensive. My advice is to fill out the customs form online and then purchase the shipping directly from USPS.
