Our mail carriers didn't run Friday or Saturday due to bad road conditions. Then there was Sunday and the Holiday. Last night we got more snow and ice, so I doubt they'll run the full routes today. As of now, I expect they'll run tomorrow.
This is a rural area with narrow, hilly, winding roads that are not plowed or cleared. A mere two inches of snow can render the back roads unsafe for 2-3 days until enough 4WD traffic gets them passable. The schools stop running busses for 'flurries'.
Some areas have had 10-15" inches or more during the two snow events since Thursday and that was on top of an inch or more of sleet in many areas.
There are no major weather alerts so no closure or service disruption notices as the main roads in the urban areas are passable within hours, if not during the event itself.

Well, I did get mail today. Didn't expect it.
Went out to shovel some of the snow and though there were only two sets of tire tracks on the road, one of them looked like it vered towards my mailbox. Defintely wider tracks than the vehicle my carrier normally drives, so I don't know who delivered.

We had almost two inches of ice and snow overnight and during the day today. Two inches doesn't sound like much, but down here were snow is a rarity, it's a big thing. Everything shut down. I'm in a rural area, so forget about the roads getting cleared. I had sales over the weekend and had eight packages to be picked up today. Of course, no mail came today ::sigh::
I did think to change my handling time, but not until yesterday, so the sales I had yesterday and today are okay. Looks like I'm getting five shipping dings...my first, and they're gonna stink for a minute
I called the PO and was told there will be service tomorrow. We'll see. None of this mess is going to thaw out since it's going to be three degrees tonight and only 27 tomorrow. Bleh
