Hi,
Been a long time customer. Noticing lately that my ebay orders ship fast, but then USPS tracking doesn't update for a week or more except to say, arriving late. This doesn't happen with my amazon or Walmart orders, only ebay. Doesn't ebay get such spec6low rates that delivery is not a concern? I'm baffled why this is only happening with ebay sellers. I also ship weekly to from CA to FL and my packages are usually early and almost never late. So, does ebay care at all? Does ebay ever file complaints with USPS, it does ebay get such low rates, they don't care about shipping time frame? Not buying any more until this is addressed. Something fishy going on. I have been nice to my sellers and have not dinged them for the long deliveries, not from now on, my feedback will reflect the slow delivery. Maybe if enough sellers get feedback that reflects the slow shipping, they will start to ask ebay why, instead

Once a label is created; it's all on USPS and doesn't have anything to do with eBay.
Arriving Late is something I've seen on both WM and AZ- as a buyer so I know it happens to all.

Please don’t take your USPS frustrations out on your seller. They have no way to speed up the process.
eBay is made up of individuals using the platform to list things. They rely on USPS, FedEx or UPS to deliver. These aren’t mega billion dollar companies with huge warehouses, robots to pick and pack your order and a fleet of 100,000 vans, just waiting to bring you your item (rarely using the postal system).
It is unfair to expect the same experience from these two very different venues.
Thanks for posting.

What I have found on occasion is that while eBay may be a bit slow to receive the information and post it, I can always find current information at www.usps.com
Many times the usps site has more current information than eBay. Now whether that is eBay being slow to post it, or the post office being slow to relay the information to eBay is not an answerable question.

@darthster Does your stuff happen to go through the Memphis USPS facility? It has been a bottleneck this year ... not sure if they cleared up their issues but Buyers and Sellers were reporting stuff was sitting there.

Isn't ebay a billion(s) dollar company ? Doesn't eBay provide sellers with shipping? If the sellers are not going to complain to eBay about bad shipping, then what recourse do buyers have? EBay doesn't seem to care and you didn't respond to my real complaint, being looking shipping. As I said, I ship from CA to FL often and my usps packages are always on time and often early. So it appears to be an issue with shipping from ebay sellers.

And if it is a USPS problem. Then ebay should be filing complaints with the USPS, not just saying it's someone else's problem, so go away.

Hi, you are comparing apples to oranges. eBay does not have warehouses and does not ship items. Every item on eBay is sold by and shipped by the individual seller. Once it is handed to the shipper, USPS UPS FedEx etc. the seller has no control over how fast the package gets delivered.
Giving a seller bad feedback for shipping delays they have no control over is only hurting your seller. It will do nothing to change how USPS does business.

eBay does not provide sellers with shipping. If eBay provided shipping, we could complain to eBay about their shipping.
eBay provides a connection between the carriers and themselves.
Your complaints should be pointed to USPS and not at a seller using USPS.
For your best results, it may be better for you to choose sellers who do not use the postal service as their carrier.
Maybe the person to blame is the buyer who chose a seller using the USPS. Especially if this is an ongoing issue.
It’s a ‘problem with eBay sellers’ only to the point that these sellers use USPS as their carrier. Many sellers don’t have an option of choosing any other carrier.

I get that the USPS is the shipper, but this problem appears to be unique yo ebay. EBay does provide shipping, through the USPS. I sold on ebay, I know. Every label says right on it EBAY. That's why I ask if ebay works out some discounted shipping fees for the sellers that use USPS and this reflects on the shipping speed? For ebay to just say, go away isn't cool. Then maybe ebay should offer shipping using other companies. At this point I would gladly pay for my items to arrive timely. I get that there are occasional delays in shipping but this seems to be increasing and nobody at ebay seems to care in the least. I know the USPS doesn't care, so back to me other question, why use them then???

During 2021 I sent over 400 packages out, all but a few going through the usps. The great majority going by media mail. Every package goes to a post office or a mail carrier on the date the label was printed. Every one eventally arrived, although some took up to 30 days to arrive.
At the beginning of 2022 the post office significantly increased the media mail rates, and my own records show their service has gone downhill fast. Since the beginning of February I have had to refund 5 packages that were never scanned and I presume never delivered. As I only ship an average slightly over one a day, that is a high percentage. One package I heard from the buyer was delivered, yet to this day never scanned.
I live in the St. Louis suburbs, and it appears everything going south or east goes through Memphis, a center which has a poor reputation. My advice is to pay for 1st class or priority mail if speed is important, but it doesnt make sense to pay $12 priority mail shipping for a $12 book.
This is a post office problem, join me in letting our Congress know this level of service is unacceptable.

One difference between Amazon, Walmart and Ebay, the other two have warehouses everywhere and they ship from the closest warehouse to you, so it doesn't take near as long to receive.

That has nothing to do with my issue. The packages shipped from ebay sellers stall out. They usually get an initial scan, then drop off tracking for a week or so, then pop back up in some hub far from the seller or me, then finally get delivered.
My current order shows a pick up scan showing usps received the pkg. That was the 14th. No scans since

The USPS handles ebay packages the same way they handle all packages. Nothing is done differently. End of story.

You would think that if ebay cared just a little bit, they would be filing the complaints with USPS. A few of us individually filing complaints with usps probably don't ever even get seen, but a big time player like eBay should have some sway...if they cared. I will take the advice to stop buying on ebay for now, and if I do buy, the seller will have to be located in my state. I am getting faster shipping and way better deals in offerup anyway.
