Combined Shipping

I use combined shipping and almost ALWAYS it is calculated incorrectly. Today i sold an item that customer purchased 2 of. The individual item weight is 9oz so the combined weight is 18oz (1lb 2oz). The listing is setup with first class mail because a single item weighs less than 1lb. The addition of the second one obviously pushed this to a place that cant go first class. Ebay calculated and charged the customer a number for shipping that i cant recreate to save my life but the real world truth is that the actual shipping is 50% higher than what was charged. Does ebay not factor in that the second item pushed this beyond first class? Im tired of eating shipping costs that ebay doesnt calculate correctly. Any thoughts?????

It would seem that ebay considers accuracy as not very important.

                               But

Ebay does seem to consider cosmetic changes as very important in order to bring about a happier user experience, for all to enjoy.

What is the size of the shipping box, what is the price the buyer was charged, what is the actual cost of postage?

No, it does not.

A seller has to realize that fact, and adjust the listing with a handling fee, extra rolled into the item price, a flat combined shipping rule that adds $X for each additional item, or some combination that comes close to working.

I take it that the 2 9oz items won't fit in a Padded Flat Rate envelope?
