Was wondering- what is the cheapest shipping method(postage)for mailing a single disc(no instructions/Manuel) of a video game/music CD/DVD movie?

Cheapest? With or without tracking?
With tracking:
Video game = USPS Ground Advantage
Single music CD or movie DVD = USPS Media Mail
Video games are not eligible for media mail.
Without tracking:
A non-machinable First Class letter for any of those discs.
Edit: the without tracking option assumes there is no case.

If it's a CD or DVD the cheapest shipping option is USPS Media Mail. Video games however cannot be shipped through Media Mail, the cheapest option for shipping them through USPS is USPS Ground Advantage. UPS or FedEx may ship video games cheaper than USPS so it might be worth checking out their rates on those.

For a single disc under 4 oz? UPS and FedEx won't even come close to USPS rates.

99% of the time this is true but through Pirate Ship there is an option called UPS Ground Saver (not sure if eBay labels has it and we have never actually used it) that can be a slight bit less (maybe $.10 or $.20) than USPS ground advantage. Because we always drop at the post office and don't always drop at UPS we haven't bothered with it (at least not yet).

I kinda figured that but seeing as how I've used FedEx only one time (a pair of sneakers that had to go to authentication, eBay paid for the label so I went with it) and UPS never I didn't want to completely write off the possibility. I have my packages picked up and the fact that UPS and FedEx charge a pick up fee automatically makes them more expensive than USPS.

UPS Ground Saver is a service where UPS handles first leg of delivery, then they pass off to USPS for final leg of delivery. UPS Ground Saver is not more affordable for a single disc without a case.
That's going to weigh maybe 3 oz with a stiff cardboard mailer for FC Letter, prob the same in a bubble mailer to ship as a package.
Shipping to zone 1 a 3 oz package:
USPS First Class Letter, non-machinable, is $1.16 + $0.44 surcharge = $1.60
USPS Ground Adv package is $3.79
USPS Media Mail package is $4.13
UPS Ground Saver (through Pirate) is $5.27
Shipping to zone 8 a 3 oz package:
USPS First Class Letter, non-machinable, is $1.16 + $0.44 surcharge = $1.60
USPS Ground Adv package is $4.36
USPS Media Mail package is $4.13
UPS Ground Saver (through Pirate) is not available. The least expensive UPS option (through Pirate) is UPS Ground for $6.32
Same package through FedEx is approx $14.50 for ground service
