Avoid Extra Fedex Shipping Charges?

My question is how can an ebay seller avoid the extra shipping charges by fedex that show up one or two months later?

How do I calculate the actual shipping prices since the prices shown on ebay are not what the final charge is really going to be?

Open your own free FedEx account and ship from the FedEx website.  This will also allow you to address any problems directly with FedEx without having ebay in the middle.

If you ship a lot of FedEx, look at a third party that offers FedEx using your own account and has ebay integration.

There is no guarantee the charges will appear.  I usually pay for a little over the actual weight on mine and have yet to see a mystery bill.
