Have you seen the price that eBay charges for a return label. I can send out a label and have an item returned for $25 but eBay wants to charge me $70 for a return label. The greed in these companies, eBay and Amazon, are getting out of control. Because some sellers don't follow basic rules those that are on top of the game get punished. At lease the Amazon label that they provide a buyer is discounted below even my rates. Come one eBay, you will never be amazon, you need to help us smaller sellers.

Two recent returns. The eBay shipping would have been $50 each more than my price. That difference is sometimes half the price of the item. For those of us who have negotiated rates with carriers, ebay shipping always costs more. I'm really upset about this. Its a slap in the face of those of us who conduct business on here the right way and do the right thing in a timely manner when a customer has an issue. Why not give us a shortened timeline to handle a return? That would make sense if the real reason for the policy was to shorten return timeframe. Not sure we're getting the whole story here. Im thinking its about getting some of that money for themselves.

Do you buy your labels on ebay? The reason I ask is that ebay has stated the return will never cost the seller more than they paid to ship, but of course that can only hold true for labels where they can see the amount paid.

I believe eBay abandoned that policy ages ago...you are saddled with whatever their label costs.

Another way for the eGreed to strap the seller. If azon and eBay only cared about the sellers as much as they claim to. They believe the buyer is the money maker when in fact the seller is the bread and butter of there companies. You need product before you need buyers.

The return label I printed several days ago was for the exact amount I paid to ship the item. BUT the label I used was for a Regional Rate A box and the buyer sent it in another box. I am not sure if I will be charged the difference. I checked my account and the amount charged to my account was the $8 and something for the RRA box.

If it was not for buyers, there would be NO sellers.

Not that I have many, but I don't recall ever being charged more for a return label than I paid to ship it.

I do not. I have negotiated rates with UPS and handle all my shipments thru shipping software and then the tracking number is relayed to ebay.
