Associated Tracking numbers

I had a buyer pay for his 3 items separately.

I originally  saw that he had paid for 2 and packed them in the same package. After sealing that pkg, i noticed he had paid for a 3rd item. I packed that item and refunded $3.80 s/h since I only packed in 2 packages. So the problem is EBay won't let me post a trk# on 1 item because they say the # is associated with another purchase!  How do I remedy that problem? Or, can I?

When you go to print your shipping labels, you can COMBINE several items, and only one label will be printed.  I don't know how you can "remedy" what has already happened.

Sounds like customer is a 'guest' and has slightly different sign on name. If that's the case, you cannot add tracking from 1 customer to another (the system sees it that way). You can void the label (refund takes 3 wks), open package, pull out 2nd item, pack it and print another  label.. or just click that the 2nd item is 'shipped' and add the tracking #'s in paypal. You may get a small 'ding' for not shipping, but that's the only way I know.
