Parcel failed to deliver - or return

The courier said they tried elivering 5 times. Buyer says they were home each day, and no card through door either. Courier said they are returning parcel and gone quiet since - nothing else on tracking. They wont deal direct as done through e-bay as agent.

Know I can refund buyer and get fees back - but what about the item and the value of the goods?

Who, if anyone will compensate the value of the goods?

What do you mean done through ebay?  Is this a global order done thorugh the shipping center?  Who is the carrier?

There was report here recently that Yokel pretended repeatedly to have tried delivery. Is yours them?

no - it was with Hermes.

sold on e-bay but bought the postage through the link to Hermes

Booked through Hermes who say they cover the value of the parcel. Queried with them what had happened as the parcel was not delivered - told me as I had not purchased shipping direct that I would have to take it up with e-bay.

Op...just a suggestion...perhaps your fellow members on the UK Community Boards may be more familiar with the workings of Hermes & be able to offer advice on eBay.co.uk.
