I'm about to list 6 heavy china plates. I have them packed and the package will weigh 6 pounds, perhaps 7 by the time I tape it all up, add invoice and label and some more bubble wrap to fill in space. It's a 12x12x12 box.
I plan on Priority Mail calculated. Since shipping to zones 5-8 will be expensive should I offer Parcel Select as an option? Isn't that ground shipping? I'm confident in my packaging for priority but am unfamiliar with handling conditions the box might get with Parcel Select.
Any and (almost) all opinions welcome.

Parcel select can be hazardous to your packages.

If the box is 12x12x12 then there is no point in offering Parcel Select separately. The package will not be subject to the dreaded Priority Mail "dimensional weight." Using Parcel Select instead of Priority Mail to ship 7 pounds to Zone 8 will save you exactly 5 cents.
Parcel Select will save money only if your package is (1) over 1 cubic foot or (2) over 18 pounds.

Ah. Then it seems I'm not reading the USPS 123 shipping page right.
