Buyer returned item and it arrived broken

Title pretty much says it all...it was a beauty product tool that they said they didn't want, they returned it and it arrived broken because they did not package it well.

Do I have any recourse here our do I just have to refund it?

I am very sorry that this  buyer was so careless.   Unfortunately,  Ebay lets  buyers  get away with all  sorts of bad behavior   these  days--so Yes you will  get  stuck with sending a  refund to  this  buyer.
