Technical error message when sending invoices

E-Bay keeps giving a technical error message when I try to send invoices to buyers that bought more than a couple of items and states try again later . Haven't been able to send these invoices for 2 days. Anyone else having that issue?

Re: Technical error message when sending invoices

I’ve had the same problem. I’ve been trying for 2 days. eBay help desk says the technical issue is being worked on. Have you found any solution to this problem? So frustrating.

Re: Technical error message when sending invoices

Last night (5/22) the invoice that I was trying to send (38 items) got generated and sent to the buyer.   I gave up trying to send it earlier and I'll assume that it was the tech people that did this but there was no indication that anything was resolved.  We'll see after my auctions end tonight.

This is also happening to me, _very_ disruptive and is a horrible experience for both seller and buyer. Please fix ASAP.

Re: Technical error message when sending invoices

It's gotten dramatically better in the past few months so they have changed their coding to accommodate this.  It it does throw the error, just hit "Send Invoice" again (at the bottom of the invoice).  I find that it gets into the problem area when there are over 30 items on the invoice and it usually goes through after 3-4 tries.

I want my money back for the monthly fee.  This is what we pay for.   I can't do business here.

Hi @wastingtime101! I've updated the Tech Board link with the info for the invoice issue.

Can we please get it added back to the pinned post (again) velvet@ebay? I'm noticing a pattern - this invoice error pops up around the same time each month on this board. Check the dates on the posts above mine.

Re: Technical error message when sending invoices

This did not work for me.  Have re-hit send invoice button after error message up to 12 times and still will not send.  I cannot get paid now for auctions.  Wonderful.  The socialist misfits in eBay IT had best get on the corrective action for this TODAY.  Has been issue since last night and this morning, still unable to send any

invoice for auctions ended.  I also would like all selling fees for May/June refunded to me.  This is wrong and VERY disruptive to my business which we are now in monthend, quarter end and half-year end too, when

sales are most important to meet sales objectives!!!

Re: Technical error message when sending invoices

I'm receiving the "Something went wrong. Please try again later" error trying to send a combined invoice for only 3 items. Very frustrating.

Same here. Reported it to eBay.

Re: Technical error message when sending invoices

Same things here since last night.  When they say they try 30 times I really hope my buyers are not getting 30 requests for payment and I am seeing this "Something went wrong. Please try again later." message.  But no number of times works for me today.  I tried XP, Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 10 computers out of curiosity, (I have a lot on my network but the point being is I can't make this work on any system of Windows.)

Hey @wastingtime101! I did a little research and I see the tech team noted this on a recent ticket:

The items sellers are reporting are considered "Autopay" which prevents an invoice being sent.

Autopay would be considered something like Immediate payment being required in listings. So for auctions, that would come into play if the seller used the 'Require immediate payment when buyer uses the Buy It Now' feature. It sounds like they are looking to find a way to improve the member experience though, so that's good to see.

A quick call out I want to make if sellers aren't requiring immediate payment, is to double check their shipping preferences to ensure they've checked the box to, "Allow buyers to send one combined payment for all items purchased".

How do you "report it to Ebay?"  I don't use twitter or meta.

Re: Technical error message when sending invoices

Then Ebay needs to fix the autopay problem so our customers can immediately pay their combined invoice.   I've been complaining about this for seems like at least a year.

Thanks for all that info velvet@ebay. That will help me and I'm sure @eburtonlab help others when invoicing issues pop up.

Having said that, it looks like a lot of users are reporting the problem since yesterday so it appears something changed overnight. Multiple new threads popped up on both the Selling and Tech Issues boards between late yesterday and today. Is there a new, separate invoicing issue happening or has tech already researched these new reports and confirmed it ties back to the info you posted above? Could you check on that for us, Velvet?

There are too many new reports in the last 24 hours to dismiss straight off the bat without checking to see if something may have gone awry or changed systematically.
