Now that I have received an answer to my question, how can I delete the post?

you might (by contacting the MOD) get a topic locked to more posts.

 

It is easy to report your original question with a request to lock the topic.

Ah I forget no easy way to contact mods.....

You could also unsubscribe from the topic so that you don't get notices when posts are added

Click on the little down arrow in the upper-right corner of your post; then choose "Report inappropriate content" and ask the mod to lock or delete your thread.  Since it's your own thread, you don't have to worry about any penalties that might have been associated with "inappropriate."
