Threads locked, without resolution but marked solved - hCaptcha

I have a problem with the discriminatory captcha system.  A lot of other people have had the same problem.   The last thread I found about this was marked as solved, and locked, by a moderator, without any resolution being reached.

What the hell?

The Captcha system stops me using some parts of eBay.  There is no alternative to the visual challenge.   None.

hCaptcha offers an accessibility cookie, which I have set.  eBay rejects it, therefore discriminating against and excluding a significant part of it is FORMER customer base.

I am really sick of this high handed attitude.  I've been a customer for well over a decade, and I'm not a robot.

Sort this out, or lose me as a customer, along with all the other people this has driven away.

Re: Threads locked, without resolution but marked solved - hCaptcha

If a thread on a forum or website is marked as solved without a resolution, it could be due to several reasons. One possible explanation is that the person who marked the thread as solved did not fully understand the issue or did not have the technical expertise to resolve it.

Regarding hCaptcha specifically, it is a common tool used by websites to prevent spam and abuse by requiring users to solve a simple challenge. If a thread discussing an issue with hCaptcha is marked as solved without a resolution, it could be because the website owner or moderator believes that the issue was resolved or the problem was not severe enough to require further action.

However, if you are experiencing a problem with hCaptcha, it is best to reach out to the website or forum's support team directly for assistance. They may be able to provide guidance on how to resolve the issue or escalate it to their technical team for further investigation.

Hey @andy_hewitt - wanted to post an updated screenshot for you. The captcha options at the bottom of the window have changed. The headphones icon is gone. Instead you click the 3-dot menu, and from there click accessibility. Hope that helps.

Thanks!  I'll look out for that.

I haven't been faced with it again, recently, but I'm sure eBay will get around to "fixing" that.  Possibly it's just because I got so fed up with the Captchas, I stopped searching for things to buy quite so often.   It seems like an odd business model, to me, to discourage people from spending money there, but that seems to have been their whole philosophy, lately.
