Editor v2 takes a big step forward in providing community users with a modern message editing experience. Read on to learn about all the message editor improvements.
Drag and drop images, videos, and attachments
With Editor v2, you can drag and drop images, videos, and file attachments directly to the message editing pane or as attachments to the post.
In-line image editing
To reposition, re-size (small, medium, large) and insert a hyperlink for an image, you need only click on the image and choose the appropriate option inline.
Improved emoji support
Emojis are a powerful medium for expressing one’s thoughts and emotions. An emoji such as “👍” can be used to replace the text - “All the Best!” or “Best of Luck!” or “Well Done!”.
Editor v2 brings you the Unicode standard set of 2500+ emojis divided across 8 categories. Emojis are supported across both Apple and Windows devices.
Inline link editing
When you click on a link or use the arrow keys to move the cursor over a link in your post, the inline link pop-up menu displays:
From the inline link pop-up menu, you can click:
- Edit Link: Opens the link editing window where you can change the existing link.
- Unlink: Removes the link associated with this text.
- Bare URL: Displays the actual URL of the link instead of the website title. (If the Bare URL is active, this button is disabled and greyed out.)
- Auto Title: Displays the title of the linked webpage for the link text. (If the Auto Title is active, this button is disabled and greyed out.)
- Open Link: Opens the linked URL in a new browser tab.
Toolbar button optimization and consistency
We made several improvements to the message editing toolbar to optimize it and make it more consistent:
Toolbars across all discussion styles are now consistent and have the same controls. Moreover, the toolbars include many more options that cater to all messaging scenarios.

I don’t have a media button. I haven’t read it all yet, maybe it’s there?
Your screenshot shows the "browse" hyperlink in color. My Firefox desktop does not show color, making that feature non-apparent (see screenshot) below. I had expected the up-arrow to be clickable. But if I hover the word "browse", an underline appears. Can this be addressed?
I dropped a rose directly into the text editor and I dropped a screenshot on the attachment area. I will assume the rose went into my photo album, while the screenshot did not. Sure makes embedding photos a lot easier. 😁 Planted an emoji here, but had difficulty displaying the overlay (I think they are taking too long to load into my browser - time will tell). The emoji shows while editing, but not in preview, mysterious...
I did notice the lack of toolbar buttons when dropping a photo, and that was while the browser width was decreased to find the photo in another folder. So browser width will affect what some see and fail to see. Shouldn't there be an expansion button for those who want to use the other tools in narrow screen mode? See second screenshot attached.
I had some issue attaching the second screenshot photo, it simply replaced the first. I tried dropping a pair instead, and then I had three. Hmmmm. I'll test some more.
Otherwise, it looks like a fun change. I'd put a smiley emoji here, but too difficult at the moment.

The emoji in your post and mine do not display preview or in the post, yet I could see the emoji in editing mode. 🤔 Probably a stylesheet issue because I can see the emoji when the stylesheet is severed.
I'm going to again attach a marked up screenshot where the tool bar is missing elements in narrow screen, and will play around with multiple image drops.
Successive, separate drops failed a few times at first (while a group drop succeeded), but this time I made three separate drops with much smaller files and they all appeared. Perhaps the window was not resizing to show the additional photos in my earlier test. Requires more testing to determine.
I definitely like the 😍drop feature because I usually have the picture folder open already when trying to post a photo, and using the file manager navigation to get there is such a pain. Oh dear, I tried to drag/drop move that emoji and now it is stuck to my cursor while typing!!! Had to click outside the editor to shake it off...... having fun yet? LOL.

That's strange. I'll look into the configuration to see why the video option is not appearing. Thanks for letting me know.
