Enough with the Simplify Your Sign-In !

Having to sign in every time I come back to the boards. And to make it even more annoying is every time I put in my password and click sign in I get the stupid stupid prompt to Simplify my Sign-In with no option to say NO forever.

It wants me to use a PIN (don't have one) or use face (monitor does not have a camera) or fingerprint (not sure how that works with this old monitor).

The "Stay Signed In" button is worthless for me, as well.

now it's happening to me...for the last few days I'm having to sign in every time I come to forums.  annoying. "stay signed in" not working.

Me too! I have to sign in almost every time I come back to the community boards even with the box checked. Been going on about a week now.

Add me to the growing list of people who have to sign into the forums every time I tab away from them.  I'd think they were looking for excuses to remove the forums by making them harder to access or use them to harvest info, but "Never attribute to malice what is probably stupidity."

fyi @fern*wood It's happening on my desktop PC.  Every day at least.  Driving me nuts!  

I got tricked into setting up a passkey a few weeks ago.  Not sure if that has anything to do with it.  I will say, I kinda like the passkey, but I'd like it even more if I didn't have to sign in every day.  Only on the Community, I stay logged into eBay forever.  Just like I used to do here.

Going to eBay from here is fine, but from eBay to here prompts a login.   So I have been keeping a tab open to the website for now to get around it, but that's not ideal.  I don't like leaving webpages open all the time.

It makes me log in even when I leave a separate forums browser tab open and logged in.

I never log out, but it makes me log in again.

Sometimes, it'll tell me that I don't have internet and won't let me log in, but it lets me traverse all over the forums logged out even though it claims I have no internet when I try to log in, and never logged out in the first place.

Same.  Though it doesn't think I don't have internet.  But even if I keep my tab open & running, it forces me to re-login.  Driving me nuts!

Use the rate your experience box on the sign in page.  Not that it helps individually but maybe if enough people give thumbs down it might wake someone up.

I cannot find the thread where devon@ebay was helping with the mobile web menu issue so I'm tagging on here. The thread is not on this forum where I'd expect it to be.

Hey Devon - any chance you have an estimated window for re-instating the navigation menu on mobile web?

And also the sign in issues that have persisted for a month?

    I'm very security minded when on the internet. I always log out of every website I visit just to make sure the session is closed or at least try. I also routinely delete cookies and clear browsing data on top of using a VPN.

   Jusy habit after knowing a very knowledgeable IT friend and another that was (lost track of him) a very talented hacker. The hacker didn't steal or anything like that but delighted in totally screwing over people that do via their own tactics. for instance if someone sent him an Email with a virus he would capture it enhance it, then trace where it origionally came from, get through their security measures and ..............boom.

   I'm probably over doing it but there are some very talented and scary hackers out there................

The check box for "stay signed in" is, I dare say, the contemporary equivalent of the suggestion box with a shredder inside?

Or perhaps one of the promised enhanced "experiences" resulting from a modest fee increase?

Hey @wastingtime101! We have a ticket open on this and we escalated it this week to have this issue resolved with the mobile browser of Community. We will update you once we have more insight on the timeframe to fix it.

Is anyone working on this constant need to sign in? It is getting beyond annoying to the point that I don't even want to come to the boards anymore. Maybe that is the plan? Make it so annoying that we will all just go away??

And now today that stupid Simplify Your Sign In is back again.

The only good thing out of this is that I've had to sign in so many times that I have now memorized my password.

I had to sign in too then it says Welcome Back. Um, I never left.
