Why are unregistered allowed to engage with sellers? How can an unregistered user make an offer?

Re: unregistered users

They can't. They would have had to make the offer before their account was zapped.

Re: unregistered users

Are you talking about an account that becomes No Longer a Registered User [NARU'd].  Or are you talking about guests.

Re: unregistered users

Guests can't make offers, so I'm fairly certain they are talking about a user that's no longer registered; someone eBay booted after they made an offer to the seller.

Re: unregistered users

You are likely right, but the OP wasn't left room to question what they were actually referring to, so I asked.

Re: unregistered users

Hey mam. I agree the original post was vague and I get why you asked them for more info. I know I'm not the original poster, but since I was able to answer the guest part of the question based on my knowledge of guest capabilities I tried to help. 🙂

Re: unregistered users

I'm fully aware of that.  I'm not sure I know what point you are trying to make.  I don't see an issue.

@pyoungfashionmogul1961

Is it possible that someone "engaged" with you (as active at that time) but between the time they sent the message and you saw the notification, the suspension occurred in that interim period?

Re: unregistered users

If you are referring to a Guest  shopper, eBay allows "Guest" shopper - here are the rules/ policies.  Sold a few  items to Guests buyers - no issues = life is good.

As I recall if the Guest buyer feels they were "scammed" by the seller (not all sellers are on the uppity up), they can become an eBay member and receive protection from eBay i.e. refund, return etc.

@wastingtime101

Why are you on here?  Where are your listings with your zero feedback score and zero listings?  You offer a lot of advice but you surely seem like a "guest" seller?

Many people here use "Board ID's" which are userids specifically for being on the boards.  They are often the most experienced, largest & most knowledgable sellers among us.  @wastingtime101  is one of them.  '

Sometimes posters retaliate against users when they don't like their advice, it used to happen often before Khoros took over the boards, so a lot of smart people use a separate userid for the boards.  Off hand, almost everyone I know using one is super knowledgable & has been here for decades.
