Has anybody else had this same experience. I had to cancel an order going to Australia because mail service was suspended. Seller gives negative feedbacks. Ebay refuses to remove. Is this fair???

The feedback removal tool is worthless for situations that require actual thought. Try sending a message with a brief explanation to eBay for Business on Facebook at the below link (include your name, eBay account email address, and zip code).

Also, I would point out in your message that this situation was outside of your control - this buyer shouldn't have been able to purchase from you in the first place, as USPS service to AU is still suspended.

What USPS method were you using for your shipping?

Fair: well purchaser did not get what they wanted. A true NEGATIVE experience.
So is it fair???

Sorry if I have this wrong, but wasn't' only USPS mail service cancelled? Did you check with the buyer or check on other mail services available? They might have cost more but it might have been an option. I checked UPS and they offered shipping to Australia. Not sure if it was offered at the ship you needed to ship the item though.

Before canceling the order did you inform the buyer and talk about your problem with an apology??
The fault here is not the buyer's fault and you make them a bad experience, depending on your reaction, they can ignore it or give a bad feedback.

As an Aussie,i consider that poor form to leave a negative.
There's no justification as the issue is beyond the sellers control.
It's not really fair if the seller explained the situation to the buyer

The problem @stormer19 is twofold:
Is the feedback 'fair'? Well, you offered a service and didn't follow through. Fair is a subjective term, but anybody could argue that yes, it's fair, because the situation was entirely avoidable.
I wouldn't have left a neg, but I'm not your buyer.
