anyone else think it's too steep, the charges, i mean paypal is an ebay company, they take 2% plus ebay takes ALL KINDS OF FEE'S so many you cant keep them all straight final value, insertion, etc etc, and you have to rely on ebay to be honest and not charge or refund when they are supposed to on those fee's too much to read to figure it all out, why cant they just make it simple like paypal...we charge you 2% or 5% of what your item sells for and 1.00 to list the item, or something along those lines.... i just got hit for 95.00 worth of fee's auto debited from my account, when i have only sold about 400.00 worth of stuff, and the other thing i found out is if you buy shipping through fedex...it isnt deducted immediately like USPS,so if you mis estimate, or miscalculate and don't have enough shipping, fedex will still deliver the item but they bill ebay for the price and ebay bills you, i had an instance where fedex changed the shipping method, ie from ground to home delivery, i paid for ground by ebays price listed but i neglected to put in the measurements of the box, just the weight, and they changed it.

I suppose you could contact ebay with your fee suggestion. The way it is done now isn't really difficult to follow. No one likes fees.
As far as your shipping/postage complaints go, if you are printing your labels from home, then you must learn the rules and be precise. You can't estimate or guess and expect it to work out. If you don't want to do either of those, then take your package to the post office for them to do it for you.

@theteamsetguy wrote:When you print a label on eBay forFedex you check a box that says you are aware of the terms of using FedEx. There is a link to the terms of using FedEx within the pop up.
I suspected that was the case, but since I never use Fedex I have no first-hand information.
It is also worth noting that dimensional weight is not the only surcharge. If you go the Fedex website you will find a list of almost 40 different surcharges that can be applied in various scenarios.

FedEx are horrible.
We Canadians have learned that FE will drop a package or hand it over without mentioning import fees and customs brokerage.
Happy customer.
Then a week or so later the bill for the import fees arrives. If it is not paid, they get heavy.
And if the customer, who is now mad at the Seller for not telling him about these fees*, is still refusing to pay, and FE goes after that seller/exporter for the money.
Try to avoid sellers who use FedEx for anything.
*and yes it is the importer/customer who is supposed to know all about them not the sender. When has that ever stopped anyone?

Since you're still on Pay Pal, your fee's will be around 13% between Ebay and Pay Pal.
If you use any listing upgrades (reserve, sub title, etc) those are charged separately.
And Ebay hasn't owned Pay Pal for a few years now.

I agree that it isn’t the only surcharge. Dimensional weight and oversized package surcharge are the ones hat catch most ebay sellers.

That's the ploy - to make the selling experience so complicated that it's overwhelming and lost on most people. Unless you're a substantial seller who relies on this as a means of business, it just isn't worth your time wading through all their jargon. All you can do in the simplest of terms is quit selling on eBay. Hit 'em where it hurts. Hopefully they miss the $100-$200 /mo in fees I was providing them.

absolutely my point, you need cliff's notes, to keep track of all these fee's i need a laminated sheet, when i make a listing, i can look at the sheet and go "oh bold 2.00" dont want that,,,, umm, 2nd category .85 cents, promoting a listing % fee....fee......fee....fee.... insertion fee...final value fee, but you can avoid this if.... or do this and you dont pay this..... just make it cut and dry for god sake!!!

Here's a simple way to make it "cut and dry": Don't use any of the listing upgrades that you seem to have on your sheet. Just use your free basic insertions each month.

Why does ebay charge you on the final price with the taxes included, they are charging you for the taxes you pay.
