requires immediate payment

Not applicable

okay I know there are other topics on this I read them but they dont solve the problem. Okay I have been using/checking off the option that requires immediate payment on my buy it now auctions. But I want to stop requiring immediate payment. So when I made a new listing I made sure the requires immediate payment box was unticked. But it did not work serveal times now buyers telling me they cant buy the item without it requiring immediate payment. Does any body know how to do this? I read a few times that Ebay is forsing requires immediate payment but...that's got to be incorrect right?

Re: requires immediate payment

Fall 2017 update

Ebay started phasing in IPR on listings under 1,000

You can get around it using the cart, however cart has never worked for me,

I'm not sure I understand... you mean the BUYER can get around it by using the cart?  OP is the seller.

If you put it in the cart, but haven't paid, then it's still available for purchase, it's really no different than if you'd put the item on a special "list" that has a cart icon attached.

As far as the seller is concerned, I don't know of any way they can get away from eBay's imposed IPR.  Is the "phase in" complete?  Are they now requiring IPR on all BIN under $1000, or is it still one of those "sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't" eBay deals?

A thread from 2017 discussing it.

And yes, you put item in cart and hope for the best, but if someone else comes along they can buy it out from under you.

I have a seller where I buy multiples from.  What he does is - I put all items in cart and pay multiple shipping amounts, and then he refunds me the extra amount.  That is when the cart works.

As to whether it is all phased in or not, your guess is as good as mine.

Ack.  You and I have different definitions of "works", but I get what you're saying...

Re: requires immediate payment

For me if I see an item I really want, and with my perfect feeback history, so far every seller I have dealt with has gone the extra mile to make it work.

So for me, as long as I can get the item, yes it works.

I have learned along time ago, that on the ebay site you have to get creative, because for items I collect, this is the only site that has them.
