remove positive feedback with negative description?

Hi, I am both a buyer and a seller on eBay. I recently did not receive a very inexpensive item that I purchased. On the 10th day after payment, I used the "item not received" option in the item details page. A couple of days later the seller replied accusing me of calling them a scammer and saying that since the tracking shows the item was in my city, I must have received it. They said I should have contacted them before "opening a case" with eBay. I replied that I used the tools available for an item not received and that that was how I was contacting them. Anyway, it went back and forth with this seller using the bible to insult me over and over so I just escalated the situation to eBay and left the seller negative feedback describing their behaviour. Since I was the buyer the seller could only leave me positive feedback but called me a fraud among other things in the review. I noticed that my negative feedback to them was removed by eBay (they have a feedback rating of 40 BTW) but I can't get eBay to remove the negative statement about me because it is a "positive" rating. Can anything be done about this?

Re: remove positive feedback with negative description?

It can be very upsetting to a seller when buyers jump to filing a claim instead of contacting the seller, which can sometimes resolve the issue that is happening.  Sellers are evaluated by Ebay every month on their stats.  Cases filed can have a negative impact on a seller.  So while the seller obviously seriously over react, in the future I would encourage you to always contact your seller first with whatever problem you are having.

If the seller isn't responsive or is not taking care of you like they should, then file your claim.

If Ebay removed the feedback you left for the seller, then what you wrote broke one of the Ebay rules.  Ebay doesn't remove feedback easily for sellers.  I see you left one other negative.  If what you wrote in that one is anything like what you wrote for this seller, that would be why Ebay removed the feedback.  If that other seller were to request that feedback to be removed, it likely would be.

As to your issue with the feedback your seller left you.  That was absolutely wrong and Ebay should be working with you on this.  I suggest you contact Ebay again.  I would suggest on Facebook.

**************************************************************************

On each Ebay page there is a link to contact Customer Service at the top of the page and again at the bottom of the page.

I would suggest that you contact Ebay for Business on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter for the better trained CSRs.

Here are your options for contacting Ebay Customer Service. Please be aware that for social media CS, you send them a Private Message and briefly explain what your problem or issue is. Feel free to leave your Name, address, phone number and/or your email address in this message. It is private and secure and it may help to speed up the response for you.

https://twitter.com/askebay

https://www.facebook.com/ebay

https://www.instagram.com/ebayforsellers/

Your options will be on the left. If you use the link below you can only get to the Automated Assistant or Chat box type AGENT in the box and hit enter. You will then get more options. Not all options are available 24/7. It will depend on staffing available. So sometimes you can request a call back and sometimes you can't. Sometimes you have the Chat option available and other times it won't me. If it is important to you to use one of those options, just try back later.

If you use a cell phone or other mobile device, you may need to turn off your Spam filter so that Ebay can call you.

If you are a seller outside of the US or Canada, you will need to use the Chat Option.

Ebay should remove this because it directly violates ebay feedback policy of leaving negative comments with a positive rating.  Talk to a real person and have them review it.  Make them aware you know this violates ebay feedback policy.

Re: remove positive feedback with negative description?

My mission statement...always seller and buyer work it out before opening a claim...that is what eBay likes.

Not contacting the seller...really? Are you serious being a seller? A polite friendly 'email' to the seller would be the way to go.

Wouldn't surprise me if seller makes a purchase from you and does the same thing...and blocking them won't matter because everyone has friends.

And leaving feedback that was removed by eBay or the seller...had to be a rather insulting feedback for it to be removed.

I had to figure out the feedback you were talking about.

Didn't you leave a negative feedback to a buyer over a 5 bucks purchase?

So, I assume this is the other positive feedback of a buck purchase.

Sometimes, life bites back.

Regardless of what the first poster said.

It's never appropriate for a seller to perform such actions.

You need to report the seller, and contact social media CS team as their behavior is unacceptable and a violation of eBays policies.

I can't believe someone would try and justify these policy violations.

Yet they encourage buyers to just file a claim without contacting the seller first.

I was the first poster.  It is OK to name me.  I don't mind.  You just didn't read the entire post or missed it.

The first part of my post was about contacting the seller first and try to resolve before jumping to a claim first.  Nothing wrong with that. I did post more details.  Then I went on to talk about the FB they left for the seller.

In closing I talked about the FB the seller left the buyer.  My exact words were no where near what you are stating above that I said.  Here is the exact quote from my post "As to your issue with the feedback your seller left you.  That was absolutely wrong and Ebay should be working with you on this.  I suggest you contact Ebay again.  I would suggest on Facebook."

You can stop clutching your pearls.
