How many years have we heard add photos. Surveys say people are more likely to buy with photos. AND EBAY IS THROWING A 'QUICK VIEW' BANNER OVER THE ENTIRE PHOTO!  HAVE THEY GONE INSANE? Someone wanted to look good and suggested this? And they tested this and it came out good idea? Has anyone ever heard of a phrase called impulse buy? Where someone is looking but not committed and they have a photo catch their eye and think that looks good, yeah I'll go ahead. You think Amazon is going to hide all their listings behind a banner? It's splashed across like it's some kind of secret what's behind it. So people are going to think what is Ebay hiding? Not even on the bottom of the picture- right through it! How is anyone going to compete with other sites showing their pictures if they're on ebay hidden? Click on something and open another site- you're going to get pop up windows all over of items just like what you were looking at- pictures of items! PICTURES! You're not going to get pop up windows of banners. You get pictures! Someone is trying to sabotage ebay.

Oh yes.... ebay use to be fun for the most part. Really. Page set up clean and simple, had control of our own pages. Then it was called classic- and then it was gone. Did anyone learn from Classic Coke debacle? No one asked for all this stuff. If they had an opt out they would see really quick what people choose.
And I called ebay- told they're rolling out new features- again- starting with some people. Must be the some. So the banner may be coming to all soon.

Thing is, this was not started because of bug. I started this with concern ebay MEANT this. The new norm is a banner quick view across pictures, obscuring them. After talk with ebay I am not heartened- I was told they started rolling out new things, a few users have them. A bug should be able to be fixed. Ebay can't- unless they want to. Time will tell.

I don't know if anyone is still trying to debug the issue since the OP isn't providing debugging information, but just to throw more data into the pile, I'll share what shows up for me.

I'm using Win 7 x64, IE 11, Windows Updates current. I only see the 'quick view' box when I hover over an image. I personally liked the magnifying glass icon better because even though the 'quick view' box only covers about 20% of the picture (in my default gallery view), it's still a little invasive.

I'm not sure this is a browser specific issue; I suspect it's a setting issue, either in the browser or on the site.

However, I agree that whether or not it's a bug, it could turn someone off to the site. A casual buyer isn't going to adjust their settings just so, they're going to look elsewhere.

I am using Firefox and so far none of this quick view anything has shown up for me - not even the small icon when hovering over a picture - no quick view banner to be seen here on Firefox.

I will cringe the day we all see such a thing. I can't imagine how eBay will attract more/new users to their site if they can't see the images immediately.  No one is going to click click click to see each & every listing's pics.

There is just no way eBay is going to roll with such a thing.  If they actually do so, someone at the top would seriously need their head (and eyes) examined...really...

...this is just nuts...

I just started seeing this too, last couple days and I HATE IT. I didn't read all of the responses but was there a solution? I have not changed a thing.

Not yet. Don't know if there IS a solution. Not if ebay wants it this way. It's awful isn't it?

I have the Quick View on every single thing I type into Search. Scrolling all the way down, it's always there. You have to click on it to get the page to open so you can see the listing and picture(s). I finally got so frustrated, I won't look on eBay anymore. I HATE this change. I'm went from IE to Fire Fox to Chrome. All the same.

Yours is the fourth report I have seen indicating that you can see that banner on all search result thumbnails, and the first that actually mentions trying different browsers. For most users, the banner only appears when hovering the mouse cursor over a thumbnail image.

If you want to eliminate the banners completely, try adding the following rule to your browser's ad blocker custom rule set:

ebay.com##A[class="s-item__gallery-plus lens-item s-item__gallery-plus--v1"]

That should eliminate those banners, assuming you are using AdBlock Plus or a similar extension.

Thank you, but I don't use Adblocker. I am absolutely not tech savvy and I have no idea how to do this. I just wish eBay would start listening to their users and stop initiating all these insane ideas.

Ad Block and AdBlock Plus are available for most desktop browsers, and allow the user to block ads and other ad-like elements on a site by site basis. Worth a look if you are not happy with some aspect of your browsing experience, and if you are willing to experiment a bit with customizing things.

Thank you for reporting you changed all the browsers and it didn't stop! I always get that when there's a problem- kick it and see if that fixes it. It's ebay. And this was just my point ***** people are going to say I HATE this change and won't look on ebay anymore. ******
If ebay wants this-goodbye ebay.
If it's an ebay problem it's insanity to ask everyone to become a techie to fix it themselves.

Hey! I just opened ebay and they're gone! Pictures are back! I've been on & off all day, just like they appeared out of nowhere, they're gone. For now?
Ebay fixed or changed their mind? Don't know, will update if they come back.
I certainly did nothing to get or get rid of them.

Hallelujah, the "quick view" banners are gone from the pics when I just did a search! I didn't do anything to try to remove them either so I guess they just magically disappeared. Hope they don't magically reappear!!!

Questioned eBay, on 9/6/19, & opened a ticket with eBay support why “quick view” appears in all search items.

Reason I option for photo view instead of a list view is to see photos of the item!

Quick view defeats the purpose of viewing item in  photo because it blocks 60% of the image over thousands of items!! Total waste of time energy & frustrating! 

 Quick view does not appear in a Chromebook via google chrome. So is it a mobile glitch? Or an iPhone mobile glitch?

Tonight I No longer see the “quick view” search results in my iPhone! 

I guess ebay does listen!
