How many years have we heard add photos. Surveys say people are more likely to buy with photos. AND EBAY IS THROWING A 'QUICK VIEW' BANNER OVER THE ENTIRE PHOTO! HAVE THEY GONE INSANE? Someone wanted to look good and suggested this? And they tested this and it came out good idea? Has anyone ever heard of a phrase called impulse buy? Where someone is looking but not committed and they have a photo catch their eye and think that looks good, yeah I'll go ahead. You think Amazon is going to hide all their listings behind a banner? It's splashed across like it's some kind of secret what's behind it. So people are going to think what is Ebay hiding? Not even on the bottom of the picture- right through it! How is anyone going to compete with other sites showing their pictures if they're on ebay hidden? Click on something and open another site- you're going to get pop up windows all over of items just like what you were looking at- pictures of items! PICTURES! You're not going to get pop up windows of banners. You get pictures! Someone is trying to sabotage ebay.

I haven't seen this either. Do you have or can you get a screen shot and post it.

It worked! So there is the screen shot. I even logged out and that's what is there- no pictures, just banner. You don't have banner over pictures?

Could you imagine trying to sell these? I couldn't buy on ebay with this-

What happens when you click on the "quick view" banner? Are you taken into the listing itself?
Unfortunately, we do not know if this is a test, enhancement, intended change, or glitch.

What browser are you using? Do you see the same "quick view" banner in other browsers as well? Could this possibly be caused by some sort of browser extension you have installed?
I do not see such banners in my search results, though it is possible that may be due to ad blocking or some default setting I have. But if this was a site-wide issue, I would expect to see many, many more complaints. This leads me to believe that it may be a limited issue; if so, you may be able to change something about your setup to get rid of those annoying banners.

I don't have any ad blocking installed, and don't have it either. OP, could you have inadvertently clicked on some option ebay has? You may want to post this on the technical board.

I've only ever seen that on an individual listing as I was scrolling over the search photo with a mouse. I've never seen it on every listing like that. Try another browser as another poster suggested @turnsby777. I think we would see a lot more posts about it if it was a widespread problem- so troubleshoot on your computer first to see if you can resolve it. What browser are you using? I half expect you to say internet explorer.

Time will tell. There's always a first post about every new "feature".

Then let's find out.
brian@ebay- Can you let us know if this is a test with really poor banner placement, if it's an eBay glitch, or if it's a problem on the OP's end?

I hope it is a simple case of a browser extension conflict or an inadvertent setting change, rather than an actual sighting of Patient Zero of a coming epidemic.
