Hello and welcome! You are asking about promoted listings, and that can be a useful strategy in selling on eBay.

However, before you consider how best to market your listings, there is work to be done on your current offerings. It will not benefit you to promote items where there are multiple errors and policy violations that could prevent buyers from finding your listings. Especially on unbranded goods.

I have made a few notes to aid you. First, your titles need better and more accurate keywords. Since most of your cross stitch kits are generic and unbranded, there needs to be specific identifiers. The animals depicted can draw buyers to the listings. So name the animals in your titles:

The bird shown is a Hummingbird with the pink flowers.

Those are not ducks, but swans with their baby ducklings.

The Eternal Love kit is a cheetah or a leopard, not a tiger. You will have to determine which it is.

Ditto the other kit with the Big Cat. Cheetah or leopard, not tiger.

Other identifiers can include what is depicted in the cross stitch scene. The listing you have labeled as Fruit, is actually more a Harvest Basket with Vegetables and Sunflowers. I know ladies who collect sunflower decor, so including that keyword would help them find your listing.

Most of the words currently in your titles do not describe the cross stitch kits and could be replaced by those that do. For example,  “Eternal Love Cross Stitch Kit Eco-friendly Cotton Stamped Gift Wedding Home Dec” could be rewritten to something like the following:

“Cheetah Big Cat Cross Stitch Kit Thread Needle Fabric 18x18 Sealed” (For illustrative purposes, you will need to rewrite your own titles for accuracy.) Avoid abbreviations in keywords. “Dec” from your title above is not something easily recognizable, for example.

Consider adding in the US measurements (inches) to the listings. We don’t use the metric system in the States. Specifying the main colors may also bring in eyes to your listings. Could add them to titles, Item Specifics and Descriptions.

Moving on to your Descriptions, i strongly advise the removal of all text regarding feedback. It is unnecessary and there is a policy violation (Feedback Manipulation Policy) in your listings where it is mentioned.

Sellers cannot threaten buyers with negative feedback!  Sellers cannot leave negative feedback for buyers. Period. Please remove that sentence right away from your listings. It can get you in trouble with eBay if it gets reported.

Please note that buyers have 30 days (not 45) after delivery, to open a case with eBay if the item is not as described. But i would remove this reference from your listings immediately. Not a good selling strategy to discuss possible seller failure to correctly describe an item. And you would be obligated to pay a full refund, not partial, if a case gets opened.

It is also not a good idea to promise positive feedback to “successful buyers” which infers less than satisfactory buyers won’t. Like i mentioned above, it is better for your account health to remove all references to feedback and items not described from your descriptions.

Good luck to you moving into the gift giving season. I hope you will have many successful sales.

Promoted Listings helps your items stand out among billions of listings on eBay and be seen by millions of active buyers when they’re browsing and searching for what you are selling, helping to increase the likelihood of a sale. The best part? You only pay when your item sells.Promoted Listings is available to Above Standard and Top Rated sellers with recent sales activity.

Promoted listings helps boost your listings' visibility by 36% on average*, with placements across eBay. Getting started is simple - just set an ad rate and then pay only when your item sells.

You are one of dozens of Sri Lankans who have been asking for advice on these Boards in the past few weeks.

There is a growing belief here that some criminal organization is scamming optimistic and entrepreneurial Sri Lankans.

Do not put any money into this business, that you cannot afford to be cheated out of.

How do you plan to get paid, since Paypal does not support SriLankan sellers?

I run Promoted Listings at one percent. I only pay if it sells. It worked well from November to March. From March to June there was a huge surge in sales when the pandemic hit and it is impossible to tease out numbers.

That surge is over --although the Christmas/Channukah/ Diwali holidays are likely to change that.

But if it doesn't work, you pay nothing.

A baby swan is a cygnet.

You learn something new every day-- whether you want to or not.

I am very worried about our new SriLankan colleagues. Paypal does not support SriLankan sellers.

@reallynicestamps
I am also concerned about the new Sri Lankan sellers. I have heard there are third party providers who collect payment on behalf of them, but not clear on exactly how this works.

There is also a popular YouTuber in SL who sells materials regarding eBay. Not speaking the language, it is impossible to say if he is legit. Can only hope.

One thing about you guys from Sri Lanka, you don't give up, no matter how much fraud is involved.

You can't legally accept Pay Pal payments, so you can't sell here, until you can.
Probably won't be long before your account is suspended.

Have a great day.
