offering returns on items , more scammers??

i got a message that i am now a top rated seller. from what i read, in order for that to appear on my listings i have to offer returns. I am open to it but have not done so , in order to try to avoid scammers / scams with the returns. Am i overthinking this or is this a valid reason to be worried about returns?

You are over thinking it. Offer returns where buyer pays for return shipping.  Never received one yet from a buyer who wants to return something. I'm thinking it's a lot of work to return something not knowing what it might cost the buyer the buyer thinks. You sell a lot of the same marketing stuff. Key here is repeat buyers. Most repeat buyers won't scam you knowing they will no longer be able to buy from you if they get blocked.

You have 70 followers...rather high for a someone not selling a lot of items at one time....So, you're actually great on what you are doing. Plus, your items are currently in the season to sell. So sell, sell, sell.

We have been offering free, 30-day returns for 3 years now and have had only 2 returns.

Just checking:  You do know that, if a buyer claims the item is not as described, you, the seller, will be required to pay the return shipping cost, if you want the item back, right?

In most categories you will get the TRS plus badge on your listings and the discount only if you offer seller paid returns and  1 or same day handling.  If you want to try free returns, I would suggest that you just offer it on your smaller items.

Buyer paid returns doesn't qualify for the badge in most categories but there are some categories that allow you to get the discount without having free returns.
