missing package form?

Someone mailed me 2 very heavy boxes. One came, the other didn't. The second shows no scans beyond accepted at the Post Office. I checked with staff here in case their internal tracking system showed movement but no. Tried to call the other Post Office, nobody picked up. Sent an email to the postmaster there. 

Is there anything special I should know about finding and submitting a lost mail form to the USPS? The box was mailed 4/28.

Yep! I would take it in stride if the box had at least made it to SOME further location but it looks like it maybe never left the P.O. where mailed. 

I did fill out the form. Media Mail was not an option.  Books, either.
