missing emails

Lately when I've gone online to work on orders I have found sold items that I never got an email for. T his is a First World Problem and since it's a sale barely a problem at all. I was just wondering if others experience this.

It's not infrequent to see posts from new sellers complaining about it.   Emails can/do go astray, so the advice is not to depend on them, to check Ebay everyday for sales.  I think most experienced sellers don't pay attention to them and don't complain about not getting them, since they do check ebay.....  I know I've not gotten them at times.

IMHO email notifications are a convenience but should never be relied on. 

Between eBay's message generator and your email inbox, there are dozens if not hundreds of servers, outboxes, applications, automated batch jobs, outgoing email servers, routers, switches, spam filters, DNS lookups, polling applications, incoming email servers, and email clients that all must be working correctly for an email to get through.  And most of those things are NOT under eBay's control. 

As a seller, I find it important to log into my eBay account every day to make sure there are no sales, disputes, questions, offers, or notifications from eBay that I need to know about.

   It's happened to me, too, since the day after Christmas. No email sold/ship now emails. But I have a habit of a couple times every day going to my Seller Hub > My eBay > Selling > Orders > Awaiting Shipment. No problem.

Yup, some experience that, posts about it here from time to time, but as you say, "barely a problem", as sellers monitor their accounts on a regular basis to check for sales.

Yep, no email for a sale yesterday. Not a big deal, because I'm logged in every day. But this will be a little bit of a pain some days. A couple of days during the week that I go to the post office I leave early and take the dog for a long walk then stop at the post office on the way home. On those days I just check my emails on my phone to see if I sold something overnight, if I did I'll take the time to get the laptop out and get the item ready.

So while it's not a big deal it is a little irritating, but if everything work right it wouldn't be eBay.

Same problem.  Under Account Settings > Communication Preferences > Selling Activity - Edit 

I checked this info and it appeared several of these settings were reset, eg the 'Item Sold' box was unchecked.  I did not uncheck this box or mess with the other settings to cause this, I don't know how this happened, but I fixed the settings just now and hopefully it will work.

Edit: It did work, I am now receiving item sold emails again
