Does the minimum offer threshold reset every time an auction listing is revised? I've set the minimum offer $ three times (yes, confirmed via button) and it keeps resetting. I've added a few photos and tweaked the description -- is that causing the minimum offer threshold to reset.
Make a listing tweak and subsequently get flooded with egregiously low offers? It doesn't make sense. Naturally the chat bot is useless.
Thanks in advance for any enlightenment.

Yay for...ME!
YES. Revising your listing currently appears to reset your minimum offer threshold.
1) I added a photo and min offer reset. I deleted the image and manually set the min offer.
2) I added some text to the description and the min offer reset again. I deleted the additional text and manually reset the min offer again.
It's a been very long time since I've engaged with the eBay "Community." My best guess would be 2006. Clearly the "community" has become less tolerant for benign questions and far more cynical.
@ebooksdiva if there's a quickie answer why best offer is bad, I'd love to hear it.
@hartungcards see intolerant and cynical above.

Suggestion....get rid of best offer.

Suggestion...stop tweaking your auctions.

Because best offers usually draw buyers who like to low ball. Low ball offers are a time waster for sellers.
Marking your own post as a best answer... sheesh 🙄
Constantly revising listings sends the listing back into indexing. Each time you do that it takes up to 24 hours for the listing to appear again in search.

Thank you for elaborating.
Getting scolded for marking my own post as a best answer, the CORRECT answer which required troubleshooting, well same 🙄 here.
Y'all can get back to your intolerant and cynical shenanigans now.
I think I'll flounce until I need to answer my own questions again. Stay cool!

I'm not too clear whether you have sold much lately or not, but I'm sure you are aware that high end electronics can bring out the worst "buyers" so please be aware of possible scams. For one, don't communicate outside of ebay for any reason.
I didn't know the answer to your question because I rarely use the auction format and even more rarely would I accept offers on an auction since I would hope for the price to go up. I realize offers on auctions can be for more than your starting price, but it doesn't sound like that's the direction they are going. If the auction doesn't work out, you might want to consider using the fixed price format.

Thank you, @fern*wood for the thoughtful response.
You're absolutely right, I rarely sell on eBay. Usually collectibles, specialty items, Apple stuff -- in the $200-$5000 range. I appreciate the warning about scammy buyers, and I have encountered plenty over 26 years of eBay'ing.
For weeks, I have watched the higher winning bids on auctions for my (exact) listed item. Mine has a unique selling point. The only reason I left the offer checked: if someone is willing to offer what I think it's worth, I'll accept it early.
At the same time, I completely understand why the offer option on an auction is undesirable for most sellers. Especially now after experiencing even ten minutes with a ridiculous minimum offer threshold.
Old eBay dog is quickly learning the newer eBay tricks.
Thanks again
