Congratulations to seller Jon Z. for winning a $500 eBay gift card for showing us how he's #makingithappen on eBay. Want to get in on some sweepstakes action? Here's how: https://community.ebay.com/t5/makingithappen/ct-p/makingithappen

50 million sellers....1 prize a week! I think sellers deserve better odds than that.
It's not an automatic entry; you have to actively send in an entry accompanied by a photo, so the pool of actual entrants is considerably less than 50 million.

Gee, I dunno... I could probably think of some way to do it. If I was running the contest, maybe I'd just compile one text file with each entrant's name on a separate line, see how many lines/entrants there were, then throw dice or something to come up with a random number that falls within that range, go to that line number in my text file, and boom, there's my winner. Easy peasey lemon squeezy.

Congrats to all the winners!
Have you entered yet? You gotta be in it to win it.
We haven't had 50 million entries by the way.

Not everybody will enter but there surely will be a winner. 😊

Yes, the 50 million count would be assuming everyone would enter. That is highly improbable, IMO.
Actually, I think this is a neat idea to give back to sellers and to generate some enthusiasm, and holiday cheer!
(To those reading: I'm ducking for cover! Please be kind, I'm old and fragile, LOL)
I still think it is a neat idea.

Hey Alan -
Can I run a Seller Santa contest for the holiday on the selling board? Each seller gets to nominate one buyer from their past year. MountainMommie would donate. Run it for a week. I would not nominate anyone personally so it's all legit. It would require sellers listing a buyer username on here and I would maybe need help notifying/crediting the winning buyer.
It would be awesome to give a winning buyer some spending money from the "eBay Sellers Board." And we could see stories from fellow sellers about their best sale this year instead of the typical worst.

Not only that, it would be musical when the boxes start to sing!

Hi @mountainmommie,
For privacy reasons, I don't think it would be appropriate to list your buyer's user IDs on a public board without their prior approval.
Thanks
