To list a box set of trading cards with each card together in one eBay listing, follow these steps: create a detailed title mentioning "Complete Box Set," use the description to specify each card's inclusion, set the quantity to match the number of cards, and consider using variations or a clear list format. This way, potential buyers will understand that they're purchasing the entire set of cards within a single listing.

I think you're talking about a variations listing, but that's not what it's made for.
For example, a variations listing is for if you had a box of 100 cards: red cards, blue cards & yellow cards.
You would create a listing with the variations...
*Red Card
*Blue Card
*Yellow Card
If you have a box of 100 different cards, you should NOT make one listing for a hundred different variations.
I see people doing it all the time, but it's wrong in my opinion.
It would be better (easier and faster) to list them separately using the "sell similar" feature.
Good luck to you.

I see this all the time, too, and I always thought it was against eBay policy. I thought a variation listing was for X item with variations; e.g., a sweater that comes in S, M, L size and red, blue, or green.
But I see variation listings used to sell things like phonograph records, where one "variation" is Elvis Presley singing Hound Dog, another is the Boston Philharmonic performing Dvorak's New World Symphony, another is The Kingston Trio doing The M.T.A., another is a recording of Franzi Lang yodeling, and so on.
I always thought was disallowed, as a kind of fee avoidance.

I agree.
That's not a variation listing.
Each card is a different item and should have there own listing.
Cards from the same player or team, could be used in a variation listing.
When you have a bunch of different cards in one listing, I think it's abuse of the variation listing system and shouldn't be done.

You all have been really good at saying how wrong it is. Would anyone like to speak to how an incomplete set could be correctly listed as a set, and have the cards sold independently?

I agree. if you're not going to answer the question as intended then don't make a post.

Hello- Looking for info on multiple car listing and saw this thread. We have leaf game work #1 of 2 and #2 of 2. intending to list as the pair given value of card and value of both cards together. is it ok to list them as 1 item?
