item location problem

Hi,

I am new to ebay and its rules.

I have a warehouse in the US for storing all my items for sale. In fact, I have been using it for selling on Amazon.

Now, when I tried to create a listing and have the item location in the US, the system wouldn't let me. Instead it wanted me to enter my country where I am located in right now.

How do I list my items at all if I travel constantly outside of the US, while all my items are in my warehouse in the US? I think this policy of item location is unreasonable for internet nomads who live abroad. I know ebay scans for my IP but where I am located doesn't equate to where my item is sending from.

Thanks in advance!

Re: item location problem

You may have to do a little selling locally to start, I know many drop shippers/warehouse fulfilment sellers who have no issue listing the item location when they re registered in a different country, so all I can think of is maybe it is because you are so new.

Re: item location problem

@boardsplus,

What is probably happening is that your place of registration is H.K. and your address for receiving packages on this account is that one.  You probably need to start a separate username/account for selling only with country of registry and the address being the one in the U.S..  I do not know if your banking information has anything to do with where you can register the account, but having a U.S. bank account wouldn't hurt.
