If the buyer wants you to send an invoice for combining multiple purchases they go to the shopping cart when they're through shopping and request a total.

this shows when they do that

Yes. An item being on sale is one of the reasons a buyer can't request a total.
For some reason ebay has decided that a 'discount is a discount' and that sellers can't offer a discount an an item AND a shipping discount.

You just need to burn a little time (can be a problem, i know) and contact your buyer (granted, they must be trusting) and spell out what discount you will give back in the form of a refund once they pay for their items...
had to do this from both ends within the last two weeks (just another eBay hassle initiated by programmers that are not active Sellers on their own platform)

When the buyer pays, he sees the invoice. Buyers can just print out that page if they want a paper copy.

When the buyer pays, he sees the invoice.
@soh.maryl
Or they may see TEN separate invoices depending on the circumstances...LOL
As far as I know, there is an ever-increasing list of reasons invoicing cannot occur on eBay.

OK. The OP did not mention the # of invoices the buyer sees, so I assumed one purchase, one invoice.
