how does eBay know when a package gets delivered ...

how does eBay know when a package gets delivered and received if I used UPS and not an ebay label.

I printed out their usps label but used ups instead. the package was delivered but how does eBay know this so I can get paid

@macca2go  If you entered the tracking number in the sale, they'll know by that. If you haven't done so, I suggest that you do ASAP.

ETA: eBay doesn't produce the USPS label, they just provide a discount and a means to do so with USPS, UPS, etc.

Thank you! I believe I did as that's how I was tracking the package and the customer did receive it. Ebay says "Funds on hold Estimated release on Oct 19" is this normal? or does this mean eBay is in limbo waiting for the "tracking" ?

New sellers have a hold on their money until ebay deems them reliable.

As long as you added the UPS tracking to the transaction eBay can see it.

Did you remember to cancel the USPS label you purchased from eBay but didn't use?

Thank you... stupid me purchased the label printed it and used UPS instead (Long story short, due to timing) ... so I'm out $9 for the usps label but everything was delivered. I guess I'm bummed about waiting 30 days as it says it is. Thank you again for the fast reply!

If you purchased your shipping through eBay, they have the tracking number.  However, if took the package to the shipper or purchased shipping from the shipper's site, you have to upload the tracking number for them to know.

Well that is just silly 😛 I can see it for small items... but 1k+ is extreme for buyer and seller! sigh....

To void a shipping label purchased through eBay, go to this page, find the order and select Cancel from the Actions drop-down. The cancel option is available for 28 days.

It takes between 2-4 weeks to receive a refund on an unused, voided label as the carrier wants to make sure the label isn't used. You'll see the refund on your original source of payment (eBay funds, bank, credit card, etc) and the funds will appear in your account without an email notification.

Please tell me you got signature confirmation! It's required on items when the buyer pays $750+ (incl tax & shipping).

In "all orders".......   over there on the left..........what status does eBay show for the transaction?  That will tell you what eBay "knows".

In "all orders"  .............  what status does eBay show when you click on the tracking # that is displayed?

eBay status usually runs a bit behind the carrier status.
