Re: game console

Just keep everything in eBay messaging if there is further communication.  Many ways a scam can go. Just stick to eBay payments, mailing address and terms.

Re: game console

It sounds scammy to me... and I don't see the 'Sold' listing. Why not just pay you your asking price?

You can cancel the order on Day 5, if the buyer hasn't paid you, citing, 'Buyer didn't pay'. It gives the buyer an Unpaid Item strike, and you are refunded your FVFs and are free to relist.

A new account is a prime target for such... move ahead with eyes wide open. Good luck.

Edit to add: Now I see the listing that you Ended. Not a good sign, either...

Re: game console

When was the last time you went in to a store and bought something for 3X more than the listed price?

Does that answer your question?

Re: game console

Since you ended the listing, @errun4, there won't be an Order to cancel. Is the user asking to pay off-site? If so, SCAM.

@errun4

Was it a BIN or an auction?

If it was a BIN, it's probably a scammer.

Have a great day.

Why would you do that and then ask ? No one with half a brain would buy something for 3x more than you are asking.

Re: game console

I learned this the hard way when I started selling:

If a buyer offers you the SAME listed price or MORE than the listed price for a Buy It Now (or an auction) - it is a scam.  Do NOT accept an offer that is "too good to believe" - because it is.

If you DO accept an offer (like the examples above) Do NOT give them your phone number, your email or talk to them off of eBay messaging. They will not pay you. You will have to wait until you can cancel the sale and  report them for non-payment.

I didn't lose anything but time messing with a couple of  these "generous" offers - just decline the offer if it happens again. Oh, and add the "buyer" to your blocked list. 🙂

Yes, for BIN listings.

But auctions are a little different there.

Usually if they offer more for an auction, they don't want to wait until the auction ends or they think it'll go for more and hoping they can get at the cheaper price.

Have a great day.

Re: game console

No matter whether it's 50 or 150 for the game, try to keep your payments on this platform and don't let him deceive you by saying sweet words like I'll pay your more if you can deal off the platform.
It'll be a total scam then.
