feedback shows dot dot

I noticed I was getting feedback that showed positive but has the buyers name blocked and the feed back is only a dot dot. -- . I went and looked and even the written feedback I left for people is also only showing as a dot dot and not the actually written feedback I left them. I called ebay. They dont have a clue??? It makes it look like to the seller I was lazy on leaving them feedback

That's very strange has it's only been happening in the past month.  I've never seen that before.  Perhaps a system glitch?

Was the item in the  feedback for medications?

I'm not "accusing," but is it possible the feedback you left for your buyers contained negative comments, even though the rating was positive?

Are the -- feedbacks left for some of these items that you sold? Over the counter medications, as suggested by @fab_finds4u.

eBay has been doing this for several years, apparently because of privacy concerns. eBay employees have confirmed that. I'm not aware of any other categories that are affected.

If the feedback is one of the last five received, you can often find the actual comment by going to your profile page and looking at the rotating display of recent comments:

Yes, that's it. That comment makes perfect sense for the OP's listings, which were selling pain-killing cream.

Mine left a single dot.  I went to their member page and looked at their feedbacks...looked at feedbacks left for others, and....every one of the positive feedbacks got a single dot; Negative feedbacks got a comment. Takeaways: 1) this user is weird; 2) they don't understand feedbacks; 3) they're self-conscious; 4) they like periods.

Personally, it's like getting a "speak no evil" feedback, like there was something wrong, but they don't want to leave a negative feedback (but I know better, now that I've seen all the other feedbacks).  I could do without it and prefer an honest review. At least it gives me a chance to respond.  Interested in the community's view.
