I received an offer for an item but the person's zip code is not available for me to check the cost of shipping. How do I use an ebay members user name to find out their zip code

Assume that they live really , really far from you if you can get the zipcode. Do this especially if you live on the east coast or the west coast. I live in NY and about 70% of my sales go to the west coast. I truly believe ebay does this on purpose. Anyway, you could always give a partial refund if the shipping quote was way too high.

Unless you are using free shipping the shipping is not part of the offer, the shipping calculator will charge the buyer the correct amount, no need to do anything.
If you are using free shipping just ask them what their zip code is.

All your listings charge for shipping and that's the shipping amount. You can't charge more than what shows in the listing.
Offers don't include shipping. Offer is for item price only and if they buy, they pay the shipping as shown in your listing.

Does it not show the town, or city in the offer?
If you know the city, or town the exact zip is not necessary.
Note: the zip code where there located make absolutely no difference anyway, as .................. if, and when you accept an offer, and the buyer pays........................ they can select a completely different address to have the item shipped to at checkout when they pay.
I had an offer. Showed buyer in my state. Shipping was included in the listing. I accepted the offer. Buyer shipping was Zip zone 6 from my location. Not a problem for me, as I shipped in a "flat rate" product, so I lucked out.
