I'm selling Us minted coins on ebay. Recently, ebay has pulled three of my listing citing its replica policy. Two of the coin were 1922 uncirculated silver dollars; the other was a 1955 BU "bug Bunny" Franklin Half Dollar.
I spoke w/ a customer service rep about the issue but I got nowhere. She kept saying that I violated ebay policy for replica coins but she could not cite what I violated. It's difficult for me when I don't know what I violated or did wrong. If it happens again, they say I'll be suspended for three days.
Anyone have a similar problem? susgests for how I can addressed the situation?
Thank you. a frustrated seller

Ebay does make mistakes at authenticating coins, so your best bet would be to only list coins certified by PCGS or NGC.

It's likely that those listings were reported by someone;
Competing seller, frustrated buyer, numpty with too much time on their hands?, who knows
Customer service reps have no idea have no idea about coins in general and there's no way anyone could verify the authenticity of a coin over the phone
You are pretty much stuck with the autobot's ruling that these are fakes due to the report, you could try to get in touch with someone with some common sense at ebay but if you're frustated now, well prepare for more frustration
Don't try relisting these 3 items, could be a big hit to you account

Hmm I think they most likely were going with the modified part of the policy.

One thing I found out several years ago was that if a listing is pulled by a bot, never relist it.
The bot will keep checking for listings pulled and will find something else and pull it again.
This happened to me.
I was doing everything they asked me too, but the listing kept getting pulled for a different violation each time. After the 4th time this listing was taken down, a C/S rep told me to NEVER relist it, even if you have corrected what it was pulled for.
You need to start a new fresh listing. Make sure everything abides to eBay's policy and then list as a new item.
My listing hasn't been messed with since I did this.

I don't see anything odd in your listings, but you did sell a 1922 BU peace dollar beginning of June. Did you use "sell similar" when you listed the other two 1922 Peace dollars?
Reason I ask is that in your item specifics for the original listing you sold (June 5th) you have listed under "year" 1922-P and under " mint location" you have Denver and SF.
It has to be 1922 for "year" ( no mint mark) and Philadelphia for "mint location", you can't have all 3 mints listed for 1 individual coin.
I don't think it was reported as someone else mentioned, but it may just be your item specifics? I would not relist until you find out the reason.
I don't know what the 1955 bugs bunny half item specifics were, but maybe go back and look if there was something wrong on that listing.
About the best answer I can come up with.

I had a 1922 Peace dollar removed for the same reason.

Had a proof silver Libertad of newer date listed a while back.. suddenly a previous buyer "informs" me that my coins is fake because he has seen fakes of the same date.. Ask him for photographic evidence and all he musters is a completely different, but clearly fake coin where the font is all off etc. He even realized his mistake and apologized, but then out of the blue a day or 2 later the coin got delisted because supposedly it was a replica.
So what i assume happened is that this previous customer of mine was a little too confident is his numismatic knowledge, reported my listing as fake then "informed" me about it being fake to feed his ego, then ebay saw through some reports a few days later and decided to remove my listing.
So in my experience removed coin listings might just be the result of some total noob reporting.

Sorry to say that the only safe thing to do is sell those elsewhere. Sadly, it does not matter if they were removed when they should not have been. Once removed, it is never safe to relist. You're in the sights now, and you may very well be shot. Stinks, but that's the way it.

The advice to not relist, is exactly how to avoid being suspended.
E-Bay doesn't kid around about it - they will suspend you. Violate again after a suspension and it can be a permanent one.

I have a replica coin that was rejected even though it was certified by NGC as PF67 UCAM and because it has the word "Replica" in it's descriptor the bots on eBay flagged it and eBay refuses to budge even though you can advertise as a "Replica coin" in other countries and get away with it. The barcode is 5914691-001 in case you want to look it up yourself and NO I am not looking to side sell (which is against eBay policy) so please don't try and approach me I am only posting the barcode so people can see what was posted for future reference on what coins will not be allowed to be posted.
